Weight loss: Woman loses 5st and credits belly fat loss to this simple diet – Express

Weight loss can be a daunting thought for many with not knowing where to start or how to achieve it. Many can become easily unmotivated and need a helping hand by professionals who can make the journey easier. Keyworker Kate Hughes is celebrating an amazing five stone weight loss after explaining that her weight left her feeling sluggish and uncomfortable. She credits a simple diet plan for her transformation.
After being advised by her dentist that there would be serious consequences if she was sedated for emergency treatment, Katie decided that enough was enough and embarked on her weight loss journey.
Weighing 20st, the mother-of-three feared that she would struggle to lose weight in lockdown.
Research has shown that three million Brits have put on more than a stone in weight throughout the pandemic due to spending more time at home.
However, thanks to the simple diet plan she chose to help her, she is now five stone lighter, weighing 15st 5lb.

She decided to choose the 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan which helps slimmers reach their desired weight by offering nutritious and easy to prepare meals.
On losing weight, the key worker said: I contacted my local 1:1 Diet Consultant, Anthea McCulley, after I returned from a holiday in France I felt really sluggish and uncomfortable in my own skin. I wanted to run around and play with my kids, but I didnt have the energy.
Within the first few weeks on plan I started to feel better and found that I had more energy for my work, where Im often out and about in meetings.
Katie quickly fell into the routine and ditched the unhealthy foods for more healthy alternatives offered on the plan.

The mum-of-three continued: Even baking cakes with my kids didnt tempt me away from the plan! Seeing the pounds drop off, and how much healthier I felt gave me the motivation to carry on. If I went out for dinner with family, I enjoyed myself but found that I was missing being on plan and went right back to it the following morning.
Lockdown posed real worries for everyone, and I was nervous that I would find it difficult staying on plan, but thankfully I persevered and the easy-to-prepare meals made sure that I was never tempted by unhealthy foods.
What is the 1:1 Diet by Cambridge?
Founded in the 1960s by biochemist Dr Alan Howard and colleague Dr Ian Maclean-Baird, the diet was and still is a popular way to lose weight.
The diet includes preparation, weight loss, stabilisation, and long-term weight management.
The diet plan involves cutting calorie intake and eating meal replacement foods including bars, smoothies, shakes and soups.
Healthline suggests that meal replacement shakes may help you resist the temptation to indulge in unhealthy processed foods.
Katie explains how the diet has worked really well for her and now feels much more happy in her own skin. She also explains how the help of her weight loss consultant helped her to stay motivated.
She said: I am so pleased with my weight loss; I feel so much healthier in myself and am so much more confident in the way I look.
Antheas support was crucial in my weight loss journey, she was always on hand to provide much-needed advice and support, even throughout the recent months of the pandemic! I couldnt have done it without her.
Katie is now training to be a 1:1 Diet Consultant herself, to help others reach their happy, healthy weight.
Before embarking on any dramatic diet or weight loss journey, dieters should consult a doctor to find out what is suitable for them because everybody needs a different amount of calories each day.

Fair Haven Native Exercising for All the Right Reasons – The Two River Times
Posted: October 15, 2020 at 11:00 pm
In college, Jordanna Drazin was unhappy with her physical and mental health. So the Rumson-Fair Haven alum and recent Syracuse graduate started an on-demand and live exercise video platform called Schvitzcription which she hopes will encourage young people to work out.
By Elizabeth Wulfhorst
When Jordanna Drazin was a student at Syracuse University, she was, like many young women and men, struggling with her weight and her mental health. Dieting is a multibillion-dollar business and so ingrained in the culture that, when she began losing weight, everyone assumed she was following a popular weight-loss program or using diet products to achieve results.
People were asking me for advice and they couldnt get over the fact that I did it without cutting my calories or (by) not eating breakfast or intermittent fasting, said Drazin, a 2016 graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School.
So she created an Instagram account to make it clear she was following her instincts and working out to feel good, not to attain a certain body image.
Drazins message of body positivity on her account, The Daily Schvitz By Jordanna (@thedailyschvitz), resonates now more than ever. She calls out the diet culture and those promoting it for making people, especially young women, less healthy as they try to achieve an impossible perfection.
While majoring in communications, she completed an internship at Equinox, an American fitness company headquartered in New York. There she realized exercising and following a healthy lifestyle was a passion. When the pandemic hit and everyone went into lockdown, Drazins message of exercise for mental and physical health became even more important. She started holding workout classes outside for friends, then online via Zoom. She quickly realized scheduled classes werent sustainable since everyone had different schedules while working or taking classes virtually from home.
Thats when she decided to invest in her idea of an on-demand library of workout videos called Schvitzcription. She uploads new videos every week and currently has about 110 subscribers. She has nearly 6,000 followers on Instagram.
Its just been an awesome way to keep busy during my quarantine and help everyone enjoy fitness the way that its meant to be enjoyed, as something pleasurable rather than torture, she said.
She credits her communications and advertising classes at Syracuse for helping her with the social media aspect of her new business. She is also studying to become a certified group fitness instructor which she expects to happen before the end of the year. She said she uses her background in dance, what she learned during her internship and the fitness tips she picked up along her own journey to create videos that are fun and accessible for everyone. For Drazin, the thought of spending 30 mindless minutes on an exercise machine just to burn calories doesnt have nearly the overall health and well-being impact of 30 minutes being mindful of your bodys movement in a class that is designed to get the heart rate up and improve your mood.
Schvitzcription offers a range of videos from five-minute quickie workouts to low intensity workouts for sculpting and toning to 45-minute high intensity interval workouts.
Drazin chose the name for her account and workout platform after realizing she was disheartened by the post-workout photos people were posting on social media. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way about many of the health influencers I was following at the time is that they were always posting pictures glowing after their workouts, hair and makeup perfectly intact, Drazin said. When I left workouts I always looked like a sweaty mess, drenched and red in the face! I wanted to normalize this and emphasize that sweat is something to be proud of and embrace because it shows you worked hard. Schvitz is the Yiddish word for sweat and Im Jewish, so I would constantly be saying Im schvitzing! after a hard workout, she explained.
Drazin wants her subscribers schvitzing, but she doesnt want them spending a lot of money to do it. The Schvitzcription on-demand library is available for $10 a month or $100 for a year; live classes are $5 a class, or $45 for a pack of 10. I really wanted to make it as affordable as possible, Drazin said, because my main demographic really is college students, and I never want price to get in the way of someone feeling good about themselves.
I wanted it to be accessible for everyone to be able to feel their best, even if money is tight, she said.
Her goal with Schvitzcription is for people to feel their best and for me to help them get there, Drazin said. She wants to inspire others and make them realize they dont need to beat up their body in order to have a successful workout. I would love to have thousands of subscribers and be able to maintain it as a full-time job, she said. But for now, Drazin is happy anytime someone reaches out to tell her shes helping them.
Drazins approach to eating is similar to her approached to fitness. She never counted calories or followed a low carb or keto diet, but instead focused on reminding herself that all foods are accessible. Freshman and sophomore year I was struggling with binge eating, she said, something she feels is prevalent on college campuses. She said it took time for her to get past the notion of denying yourself food out of fear of gaining weight. Once you realize that that idea is sort of garbage, and its a societal construct, you know, you realize slowly that you can eat something and its not going to instantly make you gain weight or you can not eat something and youre not going to lose the weight in five seconds. It took a lot of awareness and a lot of practice and a lot of effort and mindfulness.
She knows in the time of instant gratification this message is difficult to embrace, but said once you practice it, it gets easier. But its certainly not an overnight fix, she acknowledged. She no longer categorizes food as good or bad and does not subscribe to the all or nothing mindset. In a recent Instagram post accompanying a photo of highly appealing chocolate chip pancakes, she said diet culture and food restricting ends up being way more unhealthy for you in the long run than some delicious pancakes.
If Drazin were to offer one piece of advice to those wanting to start exercising or losing weight, she said it is to remember that health is not about looking a certain way, its about feeling your best.
Dont be intimidated by all these people that claim health and fitness is one certain look. It is more about doing something that is going to make you feel good in your own body.

‘Physically I feel great, I have so much energy and my confidence has soared’ – Sunday World
Posted: October 15, 2020 at 11:00 pm
I've always had extra pounds that I wanted to get rid of and I managed to get down to my goal weight for my wedding - but after I got married the weight slowly began to creep up on me. Before I knew it I was carrying an extra 3 stone and I was in a complete rut.
he turning point for me was when I went on holiday with my friends in July 2016 and I remember just feeling so self-conscious the entire time. I just wanted to cover every inch of my body, I was miserable. Feeling like an alien in your own body is completely draining, That was my trigger point.
I joined Slimming World in January 2017 and when I finally walked through the doors of my local Slimming World in Carraroe, Co. Sligo my Consultant Charlotte, could not have been more welcoming.
I was 14 stone when I stood on the scales and when I went home that night I cried. While I was despondent, when I heard about plan I knew it would work for me. Even though I'm a vegetarian there was an abundance of recipes I could tweak to make the meals my own.
In my first week I quickly realised why staying in group was so important. I had a small loss and I was so disappointed. When I actually took a step back in group I realised all the things I was doing wrong. I wasn't weighing and measuring certain foods and I wasn't eating enough fruit and vegetables.
As I got to grips with the plan, I soon realised I could enjoy my life, eat loads and stil lose weight.
I got to my target in August 2018 and with that I learned the importance of good nutrition and the benefits of adopting a healthier lifestyle. This wasn't a quick fix - I finally learned how to eat properly while living my life to the fullest too.
Physically I felt great, I could finally shop the brands I wanted and had so much energy - but it was my confidence that really soared. Now I have no problem meeting strangers or speaking in public. I no longer have to worry about hiding myself in photos or worrying abo ut not finding a special outfit for an occasion.
Stepping through those doors three years ago was life-changing. Not only am I helping people, I've also set up my own business. I am now a Consultant in Ballymote, Co. Sligo.
I started last year in July 2019 and it has been a dream come through. When Covid-19 hit we adapted and went online, but now our group is reopening with a few changes to keep everyone safe and reassured. Our group is full of fantastic, supportive members. It's a wonderful place to start your weightloss journey. If I have any advice it's take the leap now - you won't regret it.
Stock up on lots of fruit and vegetables and put them in plain sight so they will be the first thing you reach for. If you find you're not using them all, at the end of the week, make sure that you're making a big batch soup so there's no waste.
If you are vegetarian take normal recipes and adapt them. For the Chicken Pasta Bake recipe you can swap out chicken for Quorn.
Find out what your trigger foods are early on. For me it's bread and wine. And then find healthier alternatives. Make sure that you're bringing some form of exercise into your day too, it will keep your mind focused.
Break exercise down into small bite-sized bursts. If you're dropping the kids off to school try walking in stead of taking the car. Build up your movement until it becomes part of your routine.
Journalling can also be really helpful, write down what you are eating and map our your meals for the weeks ahead.

Montgomerie playing well, healthy and going viral online – pgatour.com
Posted: October 15, 2020 at 11:00 pm
Colin Montgomerie Version 3.0 might be the best one yet.
Hes no longer the doughy Scottish antagonist of so many U.S. Ryder Cup nightmares.
Hes no longer the overly blunt European who seemed in contention in nearly every major only never to win one (five runner-up finishes and four other top 10s between 1994 and 2006).
Those days are long gone. Now hes the lean (!), affable (J), free-wheeling(?), viral sensation Monty. Hes at peace with being 57 and at peace with the game that has brought him so much.
Montgomerie is fresh off a solo second at the SAS Championship on PGA TOUR Champions, where only rookie Ernie Els was able to best him, and by only a stroke. And OK, maybe Monty still has a bit of that Scottish Spurrier in him.
I just saw Ernies putt on video and my God I thought was going 10 feet by! Montgomerie said Monday.
If, indeed, the South Africans putt hadnt rattled in from 40 feet for birdie, there at least would have been a playoff. And who knows from there? Montgomerie has been playing well since the PGA TOUR Champions made its return after halting play in March because of the coronavirus pandemic, with four top 25s in seven events.
Montgomerie said he had taken ill in March just as the pandemic started, and he lost seven pounds.
That kind of gave me a kick-start, and I thought, OK, lets keep going, Montgomerie said. Then after 1,000 calories a day and some exercise, Ive lost 40.
Ive felt good about it. Sometimes it doesnt help the golf, but Ive hit a lot of balls and got the swing back. Sometimes you lose rhythm and timing when you lose weight and all the swing goes. But theres more important things than golf. Theres your health. Being overweight doesnt help you, especially if you get the virus. And no doctor will tell you losing weight will hurt you.
More important things than golf? Who are you, Monty 3.0?
He spent the time off holed up at his home in Sunningdale, England, where he said the virus was taken very seriously. He said none of the golf courses near him was open. He bought a practice net and put it in his garden. That was a first.
It turns out the weight loss has been great for him. Not only does he look fitter than he ever has, but his swing coach, Kevin Craggs at IMG Academy in Florida, believes Montgomerie actually has gained swing speed.
Monty wasnt so sure.
I suppose a lot of people lose swing speed when they lose weight, Montgomerie said. Bryson DeChambeau was putting on weight to gain swing speed. Both cant be right. But I havent lost any. Thats task No. 1.
Two other keys to resurgent Montgomerie, who tied for third at the Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship in August. His putter has been hot, and his mental outlook has stayed bright despite the pandemic.
Montgomerie ranks ninth on PGA TOUR Champions in putting average. He always has been above average with the flat stick, but only one other time in his seven years since turning 50 has he ranked in the top 10 in putting.
Im just trying to hole out, Montgomerie said. I had no three-putts last week on very quick, grainy greens. I was proud of that. You cant afford to make many mistakes on the green in three rounds. I have putted better since weve returned. If Im in the top 10 in putting I hit fairways, and generally my irons are Ok. If I can putt I know I can compete or rather contend. If I dont putt well Im down the list, but thats the same for most people. If you putt well you have half a chance.
Im just trying to be I am trying to be a little more positive. Ive been a little bit tentative. My game I should be used to it 56 years in, but my game was based on four rounds of not making many mistakes. Out here on Champions, you have to go out and go at it quickly. Sometimes I havent given myself a chance. Im lagging too many and its not good around here. You have to score 67 most days or youre not in the hunt.
Thinking positively and firing at pins instead of griping and aiming at the middle of the green? Who are you, Monty 3.0?
Wise and wistful in his late 50s, thats who.
When I was younger I would come over here for the TPCs and U.S. Opens and hopefully score around par, which was OK, Montgomerie said. Now Im on PGA TOUR Champions and pars -- God! -- youre not anywhere near contention. Its the same thing. You have to give yourself a chance to be more positive. Finishing second and third recently has been great. You dont get much from finishing 25th every week. Youve gotta contend, not just compete.
And then you get the mental side attached to. You have to think right.
Renewed and recharged, Montgomerie stopped short of saying he believed hed win again. He has seven PGA TOUR Champions titles to his credit; the 2019 Invesco QQQ Championship was his last.
His recent play has given him a surge of confidence. Hes looking forward to the few events remaining in 2020 and the loaded schedule in 2021. But while his game has changed for the better, so has the landscape.
Its getting harder all the time out here, Montgomerie said. Theres only one guy who really has improved or stayed the same and thats (Bernhard) Langer. Everyone else goes down a bit. Furyk, Els, Langer, Vijay, its getting harder and you add Mickelson, hes playing this week. Theres a helluva tough 10, youve got to be honest. McCarron if he gets his game back, Jerry Kelly, Kevin Sutherland. And the guys that no one had heard of, the likes of Scott Parel, Doug Barron, Brett Quigley, God, they can all play. Its good competition. Its great competition.
Which bring us to viral sensation Colin Montgomerie. At the SAS, the Scot was asked to take part in the #DreamsChallenge, which he wasnt aware of until watching the original video. But he figured, why not?

Rebel Wilson, Lizzo and Adele’s personal fitness is just that. Personal. – CNN
Posted: October 15, 2020 at 10:59 pm
Women in the spotlight who willingly share their experiences with weight loss are often unfairly critiqued for feeding into a narrative that "thin is better," while others who embrace their curves are labeled "unhealthy."
Seriously, people. Let's stop trying to police women's bodies.
While I understand the concerns, nuance, apparently, doesn't come easy to the internet.
Passing judgment on stars who lose weight (or gain weight) is an unfortunate pastime we can't seem to quit. Here are just a few celebs who have been through it.
Adele: Her recent physical transformation sparked claps, eyerolls and complaints that she is now "too thin."
Lizzo: The singer fully embraces her fullness, and that has led many people to sign her up as the poster woman for big-girl acceptance.
Zac Efron: Women aren't the only ones who have to deal with comments about their bodies.
Lizzo takes no less pride in showing off her full figure -- this is a woman who posed nude for her album cover, after all -- and that, too, is cause for recognition, positive reinforcement and discussion.
Conversations around celebrity body image on social platforms can range from laudatory to cruel.
There is a difference between judgment of these bodies and acknowledgment of them. When I cover this topic as a journalist, it is with compassion and the hope we may see our own self-image struggles and successes in the experiences of celebrities who choose to share them.
And whether it's a public journey like Wilson's or a quiet transformation like Adele's, personal fitness is ultimately a personal choice.
So, let's all stop standing on each other's scales.
For your weekend
Three things to watch:
'Deaf U'
I've only watched the trailer, and I'm already hooked on "Deaf U."
In this Netflix reality series, "a tight-knit group of deaf students share their stories and explore the perks and pitfalls of life at Gallaudet University," according to the streamer.
Based on the trailer, it appears some of the "perks and pitfalls" involve hookups at the private university for the deaf and hard of hearing in Washington, DC.
"Deaf U" starts streaming Friday.
'The Spanish Princess' Season 2
I never get tired of Tudor history, and I thoroughly enjoyed the dramatization of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon's love affair.
Season two arrives Sunday. This time around, according to Starz, "Catherine's struggle to produce an heir places her marriage and position in the court at risk, and she is haunted by her choices from the past."
'Soulmates'
It all sounds like a recipe for something I'd want to watch.
"Soulmates" premiered Monday on AMC and is available on demand.
Two things to listen to:
You wouldn't think that Bon Jovi would give us an album named after one of the most tumultuous years ever, but here we are.
"As the songwriting continued, I realized there were so many things going on that were topical," Bon Jovi said. "So, that title took on a much different meaning."
The result is a project that references the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, among other topics. The Covid-19 crisis, in particular, hit close to home as Bon Jovi said two of the members of his band contracted the virus and are just now getting back to where they can sing at full strength.
"2020" is out now.
John Lennon would have turned 80 years old on October 9, and a new album marks the occasion.
There are other celebrations paying tribute to Lennon, who was shot and killed in New York City on December 8, 1980.
One thing to talk about:
Add movie theaters to the list of things I miss most during the pandemic.
It's not as high up as say, my family, friends and hugs, but it's definitely in the top five.
I absolutely understand the need to keep safe (I haven't visited a theater since the pandemic started), but the theater experience can be hard to replicate. There's just something magical about it.
Hollywood has always been a place of magic, and I pray some of that finds a way to get us all back safely before the big screen.
I promise to never again take the experience for granted.
Something to sip on
As the year continues its tragic march, the loss of Eddie Van Halen has added to the sadness.
In many ways, the 1980s would not have been what they were had it not been for his group, Van Halen. Despite internal dramas (you can Google it), the band still gave us some memorable hits including "Jump" and "Panama."
Fortunately for us, this is not the case, as they have left us with their art to both remember them by and use as part of our healing.
Pop back here next Thursday for all the latest entertainment happenings that matter.

Gallbladder and Alcohol Consumption: What to Know – Healthline
Posted: October 15, 2020 at 10:59 pm
Your gallbladder is a small pear-shaped organ located in the upper right part of your abdomen. Along with your liver and pancreas, your gallbladder is a part of your biliary system.
Your biliary system focuses on the production, storage, and release of bile, a liquid thats important for the digestion of fats. Your gallbladders specific function is to store bile until it needs to be released into your small intestine.
You probably know that consuming alcohol can affect your liver. But have you ever wondered whether alcohol can also impact your gallbladder?
Lets look at whats known about alcohols effect on your gallbladder, what else can cause gallbladder issues, and how to keep your gallbladder healthy.
Alcohol consumption is a known risk factor for many health conditions. However, research has indicated that moderate alcohol consumption may actually help prevent gallstones.
Gallstones are deposits of a substance, often cholesterol, that harden and accumulate in your gallbladder. Theyre common, affecting 10 to 15 percent of people in the United States.
A 2019 analysis published in the journal Gut and Liver reviewed the results of 24 studies on alcohol use and gallstone risk. The researchers found that alcohol consumption was associated with a decreased risk of gallstones.
How exactly alcohol reduces gallstone risk is unknown. One theory is that alcohol consumption increases the rate at which the gallbladder empties. This would reduce the amount of bile that lingers in the gallbladder, lowering the risk of stone formation.
However, research hasnt supported this finding. Instead, researchers have observed no difference in gallbladder emptying between drinkers and nondrinkers or have found that alcohol actually slows gallbladder emptying.
Other ideas about how alcohol lowers gallstone risk are related to cholesterol, which many gallstones are made up of. For example, its possible that alcohol consumption may lead to lower cholesterol levels in bile.
We mentioned moderate alcohol consumption above, but what exactly does that mean?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) defines moderate alcohol consumption as:
The amount thats considered one drink varies based on the type of alcohol youre consuming. A standard drink is defined as:
While moderate alcohol consumption may lower your risk of gallstones, drinking too much alcohol can have a negative impact on your health in several ways.
Excessive drinking can be associated with things like binge drinking, heavy drinking, and alcohol use disorder.
Binge drinking and heavy drinking may seem similar, but they have different definitions:
Engaging in frequent binge drinking or heavy drinking can increase your risk of developing alcohol use disorder. Excessive alcohol consumption is also associated with an increased risk of:
If you believe that you or a loved one has a dependence on alcohol, there are many resources you can turn to for help and support. These include:
Lets take a closer look at some of the most common gallbladder issues and what can put you at risk for each of them.
Gallstones are hard objects that can develop in your gallbladder. Theyre often made up of either cholesterol or bilirubin and can vary in size and number. Its believed that gallstones form when your bile contains too much of either of these substances.
Many times, gallstones cause no symptoms. However, when they block the ducts of your biliary system, they can cause pain in the upper right part of your abdomen. This pain often occurs after a meal.
There are many risk factors for developing gallstones. Some are out of your control, while others are related to underlying conditions or lifestyle habits.
You may be at a higher risk of developing gallstones if you:
The presence of gallstones can sometimes lead to complications within your biliary system, particularly when they block the flow of bile. Well discuss some of these conditions below.
Cholecystitis is a condition where your gallbladder becomes inflamed. This most often happens when a gallstone blocks one of your biliary ducts, causing bile to back up in your gallbladder. It can also happen due to growths like polyps or tumors.
Pain due to cholecystitis is often more severe and prolonged than it is with gallstones. Other symptoms can include fever, nausea, and vomiting.
This condition is sometimes also called acalculous gallbladder disease. This is when gallbladder inflammation occurs without gallstones being present. The symptoms are similar to those of cholecystitis.
Gallbladder disease without stones is often seen in people who have experienced severe physical trauma or burns or who have an autoimmune condition like lupus. Having heart or abdominal surgery can also be a risk factor for this disease.
Choledocholithiasis occurs when a gallstone blocks your common bile duct, the tube that transports bile from your liver to your small intestine. A blockage in this area can cause bile to accumulate in your liver.
Choledocholithiasis causes pain in the upper right part of your abdomen. Other symptoms can include:
Polyps are growths that can occur in your gallbladder. Most gallbladder polyps are benign (noncancerous). In rare cases, they can be malignant (cancerous). Little is known about the risk factors for developing gallbladder polyps.
A gallbladder polyp may not cause any symptoms. However, if it blocks a duct, it can cause symptoms like pain, nausea, and vomiting.
You can take several steps to help keep your gallbladder healthy and functioning well:
Research has found that moderate alcohol consumption may help reduce the risk of gallstones, although researchers arent sure how this occurs.
While drinking in moderation may lower the risk of gallstones, excess alcohol consumption can increase your risk of many health conditions.
If you believe that you or a loved one misuses alcohol, there are many resources available to help.

Posted: October 15, 2020 at 10:59 pm
Gogglebox star Amy Tapper has confidently posed in a figure hugging dress on Instagram.
The 20-year-old lost an impressive three-stone after embarking on the Do The Unthinkable diet with her dad Jonathan.
Now the Celebs Go Dating star has shown off her transformation with a picture on Instagram.
In the snap, Amy is wearing a bright yellow dress as she holds her hand on her waist and beams from ear to ear.
The reality star revealed she chose to wear the bright outfit to help raise money for the charity, YoungMindsUK.
She wrote: "Wearing Yellow today for #helloyellow raising money for @youngmindsuk to help adults and teens with their mental health.
"This is a charity very close to my heart at the moment and the things they do for family's and friends is outstanding."
Amy concluded her post by writing: "Please help this charity by donating and wearing yellow and posting on social media #helloyellow."
This prompted Amy's supporters to comment using yellow love hearts, with many of her fans telling her how amazing she looked.

Therefore eating porridge in the morning can also help you feel full for a long time.
The expert explained: Eating wholegrains which are rich in fibre - such as oatmeal will also keep you feeling fuller for longer. Oatmeal is made with slow-release carbohydrates, this means that it will not increase your blood sugar levels as much as consuming refined carbs.
Therefore, your insulin levels dont spike as high. This is beneficial because insulin plays a position in letting your body know when and where to store fat, thus having lower blood sugar levels may help you burn fat.
Oats are also rich in something called beta-glucan, a type of fibre that can balance blood sugar levels, which works to prevent spikes and crashes that may drive up your appetite.
Studies have shown that eating eggs in the morning can increase feelings of fullness and reduce food intake later in the day, compared to bread.
Fresh fruit
Fresh fruit can satisfy those with a sweet tooth as most fruits like bananas are sweet and tasty.
David said: Fresh fruit is an excellent way to start your day and it also helps to boost your metabolism. Fruits like berries, mangos, pineapple, apples, pears and bananas are just a few of the fruits to include in your breakfast to help boost your metabolism.
Fruits are high in fibre which can also help to prevent cravings and keep you feeling fuller for longer.
One medium sized banana has just over 100 calories, which may seem like a lot for a piece of fruit but this also equates to 12 percent of your daily fibre needs.
Fibre helps slow the emptying of the stomach to curb cravings and keep you feeling fuller for longer.
Bananas are also a great source of resistant starch, a type of starch that your stomach and small intestine dont digest very well. Research suggests that resistant starch may help reduce calorie intake and reduce belly fat.
Smoothies
Whilst smoothies may be high in sugar, which can actually lead to weight gain, swapping high sugar fruits for vegetables can help slimmers lose weight and pack in extra nutrients that they otherwise may not have got into their diet.
David went on: Smoothies are a fast and easy way to get all the nutrients needed for the day ahead. Creating yummy smoothies with fruits and vegetables is a really easy way to pack in your five-a-day without even realising.
However, many of us add fruit juice to our smoothies which can often contain high sugar levels, so instead swap your sugary fruit juice for coconut water or low-fat yogurt. If you want to experiment with some new smoothie recipes, fitness and nutrition app Freeletics has some fantastic and easy recipes.
Water with lemon and honey
Water is key for anyone on a weight loss journey and is essential to keep hydration levels high.
Having it hot in the morning can help break down fat molecules, making them easier to be burnt through exercise.
David said: Honey lemon and water is a great drink to have in the morning to boost your metabolism. Honey and lemon will help to detox your body, cleaning it out for the day ahead. Having it pre-breakfast on an empty stomach will be even more beneficial."
Those with a high metabolism burn more calories throughout the day, causing weight to be lost a lot quicker than those with a slow metabolism.

Worried about your expanding waistline amidst the lockdown? It is actually a thing to worry about as belly fat has been linked to increased risk of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, some cancers, and a host of other health problems. Several factors may play a role in widening your waistline including an unhealthy diet, lack of physical activity, hormones, age, or genetic factors. Exercise alone is not enough to fight belly fat, you should eat clean to maintain a healthy weight. Also Read - Do these exercises before bed to burn away belly fat
Youre eating healthy and sticking to your workouts, but still cant get rid of belly fat? Youre probably doing the wrong workout. Its time to ramp up your workouts to eliminate that stubborn visceral fat. Also Read - Get rid of excess belly fat: It increases your risk of early death
If youre doing only cardio exercises, it wont have much impact on your waist. When it comes to burning abdominal fat, you need a combination of weights and cardiovascular training, according to fitness experts. Also Read - Struggling to lose belly fat? Remove these 5 foods from your diet
Strength training increases muscle mass, which helps your body to burn more fat. Muscle burns more calories than fat. So, having more muscle means you burn more calories throughout the day. For losing belly fat, experts recommend 250 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise or 125 minutes of high-intensity exercise a week.
Another reason why youre not losing your belly fat may be because your workout isnt challenging enough. To fight that stubborn fat, you need a high-intensity workout regimen. A study published in the journal Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise found that a high-intensity workout regimen helps people burn more belly fat than a low-intensity plan. In fact, those who followed low-intensity exercises experienced no significant changes in their belly.
To maintain a healthy weight, eat a healthy diet, reduce stress, and exercise at least four times a week, and stay active on your off days. If youre struggling to lose weight, try adding these workouts to your regular gym routine.
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is one of the best workouts for burning belly fat. HIIT combined with conventional training reduces total and visceral fat to a greater extent than regular gym training alone, suggested a study published in The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness in 2016.
This is because high-intensity workouts put more stress on your body, which increases metabolism and fat burning after exercise. After intense training, the body uses more energy to recover from stress and repair damaged tissues.
A fast metabolism can make it easier to lose the visceral fat and one way to boost your metabolic rate is to put on more muscle. That you can achieve through strength training. Weightlifting can improve muscle growth and help burn more fat faster. Compound exercises, such as deadlifts, squats, leg presses and pushups, are more effective for fat loss as they work nearly every muscle group, especially larger muscles.
Sprint intervals are other belly-fat-burning exercises that you can add to your routine. This training method is effective at reducing visceral and subcutaneous fat as well as intrahepatic fat that is linked to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
Compared to jogging and other workouts, sprint interval training is more intense, physically demanding, and recruits a larger number of fast-twitch muscle fibers. Thus, it results in faster metabolism and better fat burning.
Start adding hill sprints, ladder workouts, and downhill running to your routine to get a flat belly. Experts suggest beginning with five minutes of sprinting three times per week and gradually working your way up to 20 minutes.
Take away: Exercise alone cant undo the harm caused by bad eating. In addition, stress can contribute to fat storage in the abdominal area. So, it is important to eat clean and limit stress to get the most out of these belly-fat-burning workouts.

I Figured Out My Daily Net Carbs And Did A 16:8 Intermittent Fasting Diet To Lose 96 Lbs. – Women’s Health
Posted: October 13, 2020 at 6:59 pm
My name is Glori Boyd (@losing_glori), and I'm 37 years old. I have lived in northwest Georgia my whole life, and I currently work as a deputy tax commissioner. I do 16:8 intermittent fasting, eat within my net carbs, and walk 10,000 steps a day. I've now lost 96 pounds.
I have always struggled with my weight, even in my elementary school days. I remember having to wear sweatpants with elastic waists because my mother couldnt find jeans or cute little girl pants that fit me.
I continued to have issues with my weight into my adolescent and teen years and beyond. I made fun of myself and made light of my weight to my friends before they had a chance to poke fun at me. And even in my adult life, my weight has gone up and down. Whenever I lost weight, it always went right back up, and even higher than before. At 27 years old, I found myself at the heaviest I had ever been, at 324 pounds.
The thing was, I had no problems with my health despite my weight issues. That was the case until I was about 28. At that point, I was married and had a son who was almost 4, and my husband and I decided we wanted to try for one more child. But I discovered that I dealt with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which can cause weight gain and also lead to fertility issues.
My husband and I tried for a year and a half to have another child with no luck.
I didn't listen to the doctor's orders at the time. But through a lot of prayers, tears, and patience, I finally conceived twins in 2012. While pregnant, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Thankfully, I listened to my doctors orders that time around and was able to overcome it with diet changes at their guidance. I lost 50 pounds while pregnant with the twins, and they were born healthy. However, trying to get back to my normal lifestyle with two newborns and a 5 year-old, I gained all my weight back, plus some.

My husband was to preach a weekend revival, and I was to host a womens conference. The three plane rides to get there, countless hours of layovers, and the four-hour car ride to the mission field were excruciating. At that point, I weighed 294 pounds. My body just couldnt go anymore. My feet and legs were swollen and numb and I was out of breath. When we returned, my legs, up to my knees, felt numb for days. I knew I had to make a change.
While in Kenya, I lost my first 11 pounds due to the difference in what I was eating there and all of the physical activity we were doing. This jump-started my motivation, and I just kept going on this journey.

When I returned home from Kenya, I kicked my weight loss efforts into high gear. I started to eat a low-carb diet with lots of green, fresh veggies, plenty of protein, and I drank lots and lots of water. I started an Instagram account for accountability, and I began to learn about lots of new eating methods and tweaks like intermittent fasting (IF).

The 16:8 fasting schedule works best for me. I fast for 16 hours (7 p.m. to 11 a.m.), only drinking water during my fasting period and the occasional black coffee. I eat during an eight-hour window (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), and I try to maintain a 1,500 calorie goal.
I also calculated a healthy amount of net carbs for my lifestyle and goals, and I do my best not to exceed 70 to 80 net carbs per day. I still treat myself to pizza, cake, chips, pasta, bread, and fries occasionally. I do not deprive myself from the foods I loveI am just more mindful of my choices and portion control.

Dessert: I enjoy Halo Top ice cream. I also love sugar-free Cool Whip with sugar-free chocolate morsels. Fiber One bars never fail me when Im having a sweet tooth craving either.
I have not started a regular workout routine yet, but I try to walk 10,000 steps per day. When I move more, I can definitely see huge differences in my results and how I feel.

These three changes made the biggest difference in my weight loss results.

I also looked to my faith to help me on this journey, since my journey started while doing mission work. I started researching scriptures to help me, and my favorite is found in Corinthians 10:31, Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

I have energy that I didnt have before. I play with my kids and I go on walks with my husband. I used to worry if Id fit on amusement park rides, and I dont have that fear anymore. There is so much freedom in living a healthy lifestyle and getting your weight under control.
At first, the thought of how much weight you need to lose may be daunting, but just take it one day at a time, one step at a time, and one pound at a time. Set small goals for yourself along the way. You will look back on your journey and be amazed at what you have accomplished. I speak from experience: I am so proud of my journey, both the struggles and the triumphs.
