Why some people find it easier to lose weight – Cosmos
Posted: June 18, 2020 at 4:42 pm
Ever wondered why some people can eat to their hearts content while others agonise over every calorie and still struggle to shed those stubborn kilos?
A study published in the journal Nature Food might offer some consolation for the battlers.
It adds to mounting evidence that people have uniquely individual responses to diets, showing some bodies are better at expelling calories than others, regardless of what theyve eaten.
Healthy volunteers were given four different diets in random order over three days under supervision so they couldnt cheat and daily urinary chemical metabolites were measured using molecular profiling.
The diets had varying levels of adherence to the World Health Organisations dietary recommendations for eating lots of fruit, vegetables and fibre, ranging from high to low compliance (low being equivalent to a fast food diet).
Each diet triggered different metabolic responses within and between individuals, and these were related to blood glucose levels, says co-author Jeremy Nicholson from from the Australian National Phenome Centre at Murdoch University.
Perhaps not surprisingly, they found that our microscopic friends played a role.
Several of the chemicals that changed in the urine were generated by the gut bacteria, says Nicholson, which is consistent with the fact that people have different gut bacteria and that these bacteria can use different foods as fuel.
Interestingly, volunteers metabolic profiles following the healthiest diet corresponded to those seen in lean people, while the junk food diet profiles aligned more closely with that of obese people.
So, on balance, eating healthier food is clearly better; but its not so black and white.
Developing a dietary metabolic score from their results, the team found that 12 out of 19 participants increased their score positively in response to the healthy diet while 13 individuals scores went down after the fast food diet.
The difference between the least and most calories excreted in peoples urine was four percent, equating to four calories a day. That might not sound like much, but it adds up to 1500 calories a year, or 215 grams of fat difference.
As many people would attest, such small changes can creep up over time. The researchers explain that adults gain an average of 500 grams per year, which is about 3500 calories an excess of less than 10 calories per day.
The study adds to the growing field of precision medicine, which could help health professionals tailor peoples diets to individual metabolic profiles, helping to boost weight loss and mitigate risk of chronic diseases.
This is a real paradigm shift in personalised nutrition research, says co-author Gary Frost from Imperial College, UK.
[F]or the first time we have tools that can rapidly evaluate the diet-microbiome interactions that affect individual responses to complex diet patterns in the real world.
It might also help inspire people to change dietary habits, a notoriously difficult feat. As Nicholson suggests, knowing something is specifically good for you is more motivating, making it more likely that youll do something about it.
Obesity researchers would argue this still doesnt let the fast food industry off the hook for its pervasive influence on diet, disease and health inequalities.

7 benefits of walking and how it can improve your health – Insider – INSIDER
Posted: June 18, 2020 at 4:42 pm
Walking is a form of exercise that can significantly improve your physical and mental health. Not only can it extend your life and prevent disease, but it can also boost your energy and mood.
In addition, studies show that if you walk regularly and quickly enough, it could be the only aerobic exercise you need to keep your heart and lungs healthy.
It's also accessible, easy, and free. So if you're one of the 47% of adults in the US who don't meet the CDC's Physical Activity Guidelines for aerobic activity, then walking is a habit worth pursuing and keeping.
Here's seven research-backed health benefits of walking, as well as how fast, long, and regularly you should walk to reap them.
Walking increases your heart rate, causing you to expend energy and burn calories just like other forms of physical activity such as running, swimming, or cycling. How many calories you burn depends on how fast you walk, for how long, the terrain, and your weight.
A 2020 study published in the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research found that participants burned an average of 89 calories walking 1,600 meters (about 1 mile). That was only around 20% less than the 113 calories other participants burned running the same distance.
And across the results of nine different walking studies in this 2008 review published in the Annals of Family Medicine, participants lost an average of 0.05 kilograms (0.1 pounds) per week as a result of increasing their step count by between 1,827 and 4,556 steps per day. Overall, that translated to a weight loss of about 5 pounds a year on average across all studies.
The American College of Sports Medicine offers recommendations for how much time people who are overweight or obese should dedicate to physical activity each week to prevent and promote weight loss. It goes as follows:
It's important to note that, if you consume more calories than you burn every day, no amount of walking or any other physical activity will help you lose weight.
Walking increases blood flow around the body so that more blood containing oxygen and nutrients for fuel can reach the large muscles in the legs as well as the brain. This is what makes you feel energized, according to Pete McCall CSCS, exercise physiologist, personal trainer, and author.
In addition, walking and other types of physical exercise have been shown to increase the amount of a type of protein found in the brain, called brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). BDNF may be responsible for how well you can think, learn, and memorize amongst other functions in the brain.
"There is a correlation between a brisk walk and elevated levels of BDNF, which can help improve overall cognition, or thought processing," says McCall.
A 2008 study published in the Psychotherapy and Psychosomatic journal found that previously sedentary adults reported feeling more energetic and less fatigued after just 20 minutes of low to moderate aerobic exercise including walking for three days a week over a six week period.
And this 2017 study conducted on sleep deprived women aged 18 to 23, published in the journal of Physiology & Behavior, found that walking up and down the stairs for just 10 minutes at a low to moderate intensity was more energizing than consuming 50mg of caffeine, or about half a cup of coffee.
Walking briskly and regularly can also help protect you from getting a cold, the flu, or other immune-related illnesses.
That's because physical exercise like walking increases the amount of white blood cells circulating in your blood. These cells fight infection and other diseases as part of the body's immune system.
A 2013 study of 800 young adults over six years published in the World Journal of Experimental Medicine showed that white blood cell count increased significantly after just five minutes of exercise.
And this 2005 study published the American College of Sports Medicine's flagship journal measured the white blood cell count of 15 adults immediately after a 30 minute walk as well as after sitting down for the same amount of time. It also found a significant increase in white blood cells.
Walking has also been linked to a lower number of sick days taken. A 2011 study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine tracked 1000 adults during flu season. Those who walked at a moderate pace for 30 to 45 minutes a day had 43% fewer sick days and fewer upper respiratory tract infections overall.
Their symptoms were also less severe if they did get sick. That was compared to adults in the study who were sedentary.
Walking can also help relieve pain from stiffness in your body by warming up your muscles, making it easier to move, according to McCall.
"The motion can elevate tissue temperature making it easier for muscles to lengthen and shorten as temperature increases, muscles move more easily," says McCall.
In addition, walking can increase levels of certain types of chemicals in your brain known scientifically as neurotransmitters which help your nervous system work effectively. This can include a type of neurotransmitter that reduces pain.
"The first few minutes of walking might be uncomfortable but after five to seven minutes the body warms up, blood is flowing, and neurotransmitter production increases helping reduce pain," says McCall.
For this reason, walking is often recommended to alleviate pain and reduce disability in patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions that is, pain that affects the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves such as lower back pain.
There is also evidence of patients who are hospitalized with chronic musculoskeletal pain in the spine or limbs reporting less pain the more they walked.
Walking has been found to reduce your risk of cardiovascular events that's any incident which causes damage to your heart, such as a heart attack by 31%.
This was evident even at a moderate pace of about 2 miles per hour and at distances of just over one mile a day for five days a week, or 5.5 miles per week.
But the longer and faster you walk, the greater the benefits and protection of your heart. A 2017 study of more than 50,000 adults in the UK, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, found that people who walked at an average or quick pace between five and 10 hours a week were about 24% less likely to die from heart disease compared to slow walkers.
Aerobic exercise including walking can help you feel more relaxed, reduce stress, and fight depression.
The reason aerobic workouts lift our spirits seems related to their ability to reduce levels of natural stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol, according to this 2015 study in the Journal of Physical Therapy Science.
Just a 30-minute walk is enough to lift the mood of someone suffering from major depressive disorder, according to a 2005 study published in the journal of the American College of Sports Medicine.
And a 2019 study published in the official journal of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) found that three hours of exercise a week, no matter the type of activity, decreased the risk of depression in people who had already experienced feeling depressed.
Walking has also been linked to a decreased risk of mortality, or a longer life expectancy. And the longer and faster you walk, the more it increases your life expectancy.
This 2011 study published by the British Medical Association followed 27,738 participants aged 40 to 79years for a 13 year period and found that participants who walked for more than one hour a day had a longer life expectancy than participants who walked for less than one hour a day.
Following 50,225 walkers over 14 years, another 2018 study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine looked at the association of walking at a faster pace with factors like overall causes of death, cardiovascular disease, and death from cancer.
The researchers found that the quicker you walk, the lower your risk of overall death. For example, walking at an average pace resulted in a 20% reduced risk of overall death when compared to walking at a slow pace. And walking at a brisk or fast pace at least 4 miles per hour reduced the risk by 24% compared to walking at a slow pace.

5 tips to shedding the ‘quarantine 15’: ‘It’s not just about looking in the mirror and trying to look fantastic’ – Yahoo Lifestyle
Posted: June 18, 2020 at 4:42 pm
Remember to consult your doctor before making major changes to your diet and exercise plan.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced Americans to stay home and juggle quarantine life, which includes: working from home, schooling kids, cooking, cleaning and worrying about our health. The anxiety can be overwhelming, and for many, snacking on our favorite foods has offered a feeling of comfort.
If youve noticed youve put on the quarantine 15, its OK and expected, says Dr. Taz Bhatia, an immune support and wellness physician, who shares with Yahoo Life five things we can do to lose (if we choose) the lockdown pounds.
Losing weight, it's not just about looking in the mirror and trying to look fantastic, she explains. It's really more about your overall health.
Avoid buying cookies, potato chips and foods high in sugar and salt. Seems obvious, right? But the way comfort foods work is they show up when we need immediate relief. As a result, were left craving more and overeating. When we're stressed and upset, those are the things we naturally run back to, Bhatia says.
Youve eliminated the comfort foods, now its time to add healthy foods to your fridge. I would start by organizing it by category, she says. That's the easiest way to think about food. Bhatia suggests a shelf dedicated to lean proteins, one to vegetables rich in fiber, and another shelf devoted to healthy fats.
Exercise and healthy eating go hand in hand when youre trying to shed those extra pounds. The real secret to weight loss is that we need to move throughout the day, Bhatia explains. Instead of putting in a full hour of a hardcore workout, try exercising three times a day for 30 minutes.
Intermittent fasting has gained popularity because of its results. Fasting creates clear boundaries, Bhatia says. It structures your schedule, telling you when you can and cannot eat. When you fast, you put the gut in a resting state, allowing it to digest the food from the previous day.
Story continues
One of the ways you can balance your digestion and then lose weight is by adding in gut-friendly foods, says Bhatia. These foods include: bone broth, yogurt, kefir and fermented vegetables like sauerkraut. They offer good bacteria, which in turn helps balance the gut and improve metabolic rate.
For the latest coronavirus news and updates, follow along at https://news.yahoo.com/coronavirus. According to experts, people over 60 and those who are immunocompromised continue to be the most at risk. If you have questions, please reference the CDCs and WHOs resource guides.

10. Shawn Porter
Coming from USA, Shawn Porter is a former WBC, and IBF welterweight champion of the world. He most recently put on an amazing showing in a narrow defeat against Errol Spence.
The former WBA, IBF, and WBO, and The Ring light heavyweight champion from Russia lands at number 8 on our list. Most recently he took a hit on his record, however, with a knockout loss to Canelo Alvarez.
Lomachenko is growing his name in boxing through devastating performances and world titles in three weight classes. Luke Campbell was his most recent win, and he looked in fine form.
AJ is a huge name in British and in world boxing. He is the reigning unified heavyweight champion of the world, and with only one loss on his record, (which he avenged), he is looking for a monumental showdown with fellow brit Tyson Fury.
Pac-Man has been around for a while, and even though he serves in the government of his native Philippines, he is still active. His recent win over Keith Thurman for the WBA welterweight title has people calling for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather.
The American former WBC heavyweight champion breaks the top five of this list. He just suffered his first loss, however, losing by TKO to Tyson Fury in February.
Hailing from Kazakhstan, the fighter known as GGG has only one loss on his record in a close decision to Canelo Alvarez. He then rebounded quickly and is now the reigning IBF middleweight champion of the world.
The American unified welterweight champion known as "The Truth," has made a name for himself by dominating most of his opponents with his power and speed. His most recent fight was against Shawn Porter, where he showed heart and determination to get through a dog fight with his belt and Potter's.
What a story it has been for Tyson Fury. The Brit, who beat Wladimir Klitschko for the unified heavyweight championship, went through drug issues, weight gain, and mental health problems. But he has made a huge comeback and is now the WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion of the world.
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is on the top of this list for good reason. He has won world titles in the light middleweight division, the middleweight division, the super middleweight division, and most recently, the light heavyweight division, with an 11th round knockout of Sergey Kovalev.

Weight loss: How to lose your lockdown belly fat in 2 weeks – Express

Increase activity
Exercise is a key part to a weight loss journey as it can help you burn more calories as well as helping your body to relax.
Exercising doesnt have to be intense and even a 30 minute brisk walk can help reduce unwanted fat around the belly.
It can also have a positive effect on your metabolism as well as being beneficial for fat burning around the whole of the body.
Since the gyms have been closed for many months, walking or cycling in your local area can help shed the extra kilos.
Green tea
Green tea is said to be one of the healthiest drinks for the body.
Its high antioxidant content can help reduce visceral fat and all you need to drink is one to two cups a day.
It can also help you increase your fat burning during exercise. This is because the antioxidant compounds can help continue to burn calories, even at rest, helping you burn more calories than you usually would during exercise.
Many experts suggest drinking it before exercise, while others recommend drinking it first thing in the morning to kickstart your metabolism.
Compounds in the healthy drink increases levels of hormones that tell fat cells to break down fat. This releases fat into your bloodstream and makes it available as energy.
Therefore not only will you be burning more fat, you will also have more energy to use throughout the day.
Avoid sugary foods
Too much sugary food and drink can lead to excess fat storage.
This is because insulin levels in the body work hard to keep excess glucose out of the bloodstream.
Recent studies have indicated that there is a correlation between high sugar intake and excess belly fat.
Foods high in sugar include beverages like fizzy drinks. High sugar foods include those which are processed, fast foods, fried foods and sweets.
Quitting these foods can be challenging as Healthline suggests sugar can be addictive. This is because eating sugar releases opioids and dopamine into the body, which play several important roles in the brain and body.

How Amanda Piotrowski Shed 195 lbs In 20 Months Of OMAD Dieting – FitnessVolt.com
Posted: June 17, 2020 at 2:49 pm
When it comes to losing weight, the process is rather straightforward. Eat less food and throw in some physical activity. But fasting to lose weight may provide even more benefits according to research. Even though, the evidence is a bit mixed in certain areas.
Studies have shown improvements in blood sugar health, cortisol levels (stress hormone), and other markers of health as well. Although, theres a hypothesis that the simple act of reducing calories improves several risk factors and even reverses some forms of disease such as diabetes for instance. (1)
But even not considering this hypothesis, there are experts that just dont believe in its benefits. However, that doesnt stop those eager to shed pounds fast to try it out for themselves.
Well, that was certainly the case for 30-year-old Amanda Piotrowski from Florence Kentucky. She ended up losing an unbelievable 195 pounds in less than two years after setting a New Years resolution to lose weight and get healthier.
As a result, she looks like a completely different person, and her decision no doubt turned her whole life around in an amazing way.
The restaurant general manager went from originally 387 lbs at her heaviest to 192 lbs in less than two years. She became serious at age 27 and decided to make a change on January 2, 2018.
Heres a before and after from 2016 to 2020 where she noted her failed attempt at weight loss the first time although she still lost some pounds. But the second tome would prove to involve her breakthrough where shed lose 190 pounds.
She, not surprisingly, started to feel a lot better in her skin at this point.
But it wasnt easy, she told Womens Health.
It was always a struggle for me to lose weight. I tried over and over again with no substantial success. I love food, and I love junk food even more. At my heaviest weight I was 387 pounds.
My weight also impacted my health. I had high blood pressure that I needed medicine for. I was also previously diagnosed withuterine cancerand was told my weight could have played a part in that as well.
But it wasnt until January 2, 2018, when I was 27 years old, that I finally made a change that stuck.
Piotrowski admitted to having a love for food, especially the kind thatll rapidly packs on the weight. She developed health problems and eventually uterine cancer, of which her weight may have contributed to.
Her determination to transform her body for healths sake kept her going even when she wanted to throw in the towel.
Heres what she wrote in a post where she showed the massive change in her appearance from 2018 to 2020
I spent last night looking through my old post on this account. From way back when I started in 2018. If there is one piece of advice I could give, it would be: Never give up. So what you fell off your food plan! So what you havent worked out in a while! As long as you get back to it, thats all that matters.
I didnt get here being perfect. I got here by never stopping. I had bad days, weeks and even months. I had a time of regain. But I kept pushing. You can believe in yourself. Even though its hard. And even though it doesnt feel worth it. I promise it will be. You CAN and WILL accomplish everything and anything you want.
Piotrowski has been maintaining her weight for 9 months since losing the 195 months which took 20 months to do.She attributed her weight loss to calorie counting and intermittent fasting/OMAD type dieting.
I really love fasting and how it feels, she explained.I had previously triedketo,low-carb, and otherhigh-protein/low-fat diet variations. I believe any way of eating can work as long as you make the best choices for you, physically and mentally
Piotrowski provided Womens Health with what a typical OMAD meal would look like for her.
Heres another example meal from her OMAD eating
As far as the exercise portion went, she didnt start being active until a month into eating healthier. Nowadays though, she might have found her new love in physical fitness as she works out 5-6 days per week. She even transitioned into weight training after initially focusing on calorie-burning cardio sessions.
I love just getting lost in my thoughts and crushing it in the gym.
Losing weight and getting fit is not easy because if it was then everyone would do it. But Piotrowski does believe that everyone can do it
My journey wasnt easy. No ones is! Its hard. Youll wonder if its worth it. Youll wonder if you can do it. And you can! You can do anything you want to. You just have to try. Thats all Ive been doing.
She ended with some words for inspiration
If I get stuck, I try something else. But I never give up. I never stop trying. I cried too many times hating my body and not being grateful, and that was exhausting. This is the only body we have, so we have to take care of it.
Amanda Piotrowskis life has changed dramatically since setting her big goal that may have seemed out of reach at times. But she learned about the process, never gave up, and forgave herself for not being perfect. She actually feels happy and so much better I feel clear-headed. I feel more energetic.

5 Science-Backed Facts About the Keto Diet – ZME Science
Posted: June 17, 2020 at 2:49 pm
The Keto (ketogenic) diet is still making waves in the media and with health experts. It has its believers and its skeptics, but it has shown to be a viable solution for various health conditions, which include treatments for epilepsy, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.
A keto diet works by depleting the body of its sugar reserves resulting in the breakdown of fat for energy. There are numerous types of keto diets, such as the Standard Ketogenic Diet and the Cyclical Ketogenic Diet.
The keto diet is focused on consuming high-fat and low-carb foods, the principle behind being that it makes the body burn fat instead of carbohydrates.
The process of ketosis is when your body runs out of carbohydrates to convert to energy and therefore relies on fat for fuel. Contrary to popular belief, youre not supposed to eat only protein on the keto diet, you are supposed to eat a moderate amount of protein and not go overboard, as too much protein can affect your body negatively. The idea of it is that eating only small amounts of carbohydrates mimics starvation and shifts the metabolism into a state of ketosis, where fat burning is optimized and you lose weight.
There are claims that the keto diet will help with weight loss and boost energy levels, however, further research is still required to develop further understanding of these mechanisms. In fact, there is quite a bit of scientific debate on low-carb diets and how they impact the body overall, and the keto diet is still fairly controversial. Nevertheless, the energy benefits of ketone bodies are well-documented, sports coach and nutrition expert Paul Jenkins MSc explains:
Ketones allow for more efficient energy production relative to glucose, and can therefore be advantageous during a caloric deficit. Furthermore, ketone bodies may also have an energy additional benefit for endurance athletes such as long distance cyclists and marathon runners who struggle to consume foodstuffs while competing.
Although the keto diet is considered a relatively new fad, it was, in fact, first started in the early 1920s by Dr. Russell Wilder of the Mayo Clinic. The diet was created to help in the treatment of epilepsy. Dr. Wilders research proposed that a low carbohydrate diet could cause health benefits of fasting, without needing to fast.
The keto diet is a plan to focus on eating foods that provide healthful fats, proper amounts of protein, and limited carbs. The goal is to get more calories from fat than from carbs.
For the diet to work, it needs to deplete the bodys sugar reserves, which results in breaking down fat for energy. This causes the production of molecules called ketones, which the body uses for fuel. This result can also result in weight loss because your body is burning fat.
So, as promised, here are five science-based facts about the keto diet.
1. A Keto Diet Requires Thorough Planning
Following the keto diet successfully requires consideration and calculation of the amounts of carbs against fat verse protein.
Clinical nutritionists have stated that 5% of your daily calorie intake should come from carbs, and 15% from protein. The rest of the calories should come from fats which means that the vast majority of your caloric intake will be fats.
In order to achieve sustained nutritional ketosis, it is crucial to stick to the proper nutritional ratios. This doesnt necessarily mean that all you can eat is meat and avocado, you can (and should) substitute root vegetables for low-carbohydrate vegetables that grow overground.
2. You May Feel Lousy in the Beginning
At the start of your keto diet journey, you may feel lousy. In fact, it is not uncommon to experience fatigue-like symptoms after the first few days of cutting back on carbs, and these symptoms can go on for a while.
These initial side-effects are commonly reported as the keto flu, which include such things as headaches, low energy levels, sweet cravings, lethargy, and brain-fog. These can be normal because when you stop eating carbs, the body is subjugated to an energy crisis, and is thus forced to begin to burn fat for fuel instead of glucose.
Within a week or so of being on a ketogenic diet, these symptoms subside as the body adapts and regulates its energy metabolism to ketosis, but if the problems persist, you should be very careful and consider talking to a doctor.
3. You Will Lose Water Weight First
When first starting the keto diet, you may see a quick drop in your weight, but dont get excited just yet that isnt due to fat loss.
Experts have said in the beginning the weight loss is largely water weight but can include some fat and muscle loss too. It takes a couple of weeks before your body starts to burn fat effectively.
It is essential to maintain the proper macronutrient ratios of fat, protein, carbohydrates, and to eat enough calories daily to avoid the unwanted loss of skeletal muscle tissue to ensure that you have a healthy overall diet.
4. It is Not an Excuse to Eat Whatever You Want
Although you can eat a substantial amount of food on the keto diet, it isnt a free pass to consume endless amounts of foods such as butter and bacon. You still need to properly manage consumption of good fats and quality proteins.
Furthermore, you should avoid eating large amounts of protein on the keto diet. Assistant professor and radiation oncologist, Colin Champ, MD, from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, stated that:
Overeating protein in the diet could stall the act of ketosis. A successful keto diet needs to support healthy fat sources to support metabolism.
5. Ketogenic Diets May Help With Type 2 Diabetes
Research has shown that the keto diet is helping to improve blood glucose, which can be a significant benefit to people with type 2 diabetes.
Dr. Saurabh Sethi, who specializes in gastroenterology, hepatology, and advanced interventional endoscopy in San Francisco, has stated that the ketogenic diet has improved blood sugar control for patients with type 2 diabetes.
Other doctors, such as Jason Fung, MD, has been treating patients with type 2 diabetes with a keto diet and fasting. However, long-term research and data are missing.
What Can You Eat on the Keto Diet?
Unlike other fad diets, you can still eat a lot of what you enjoyed before but should focus on good fats such as coconut oil, avocado, olive oil, grass-fed butter, and fatty cuts of meats from organic livestock. On the keto diet, you need to avoid sugar and carb-heavy food, like bread, cakes, cookies, candy, cereal, rice, pasta, ice cream, potatoes, store-bought sauces, and some fruits.
Fruits that can be enjoyed on a keto diet are avocados, raspberries, and lemons when they are eaten in moderation. Fruit can be higher in carbs, and sugar, so you need to be careful to watch what you eat.
The Conclusion
The very low carbohydrate keto diet is very restrictive and can be unpleasant, and most people fail to make it through the initial adaptation period. Like any diet, you need to have patience and persevere with it for a couple of weeks you may see meaningful results.
As well as weight loss, the keto diet can help with treating various health conditions and can help you lose weight. However, there is a lack of research regarding the long-term effects of the keto diet and there has been some controversy regarding its potential long-term negative effects.
Before starting any lifestyle-changing diet, you should consult a doctor or nutritionist to make sure it is right for you.

All you have to do is take two pills per day, and you will start noticing fat burning away from your body.
What is Leptin?
Leptitox helps regulate the Leptin hormone in the body. It is the hormone that is vital in the production of fat in the body. So, it is important to understand how this hormone works, before you can know how Leptitox works in helping you lose weight. Leptin is produced in the small intestine by the enterocytes and adipose cells. It helps regulate several bodily functions that include the energy levels, production of fat, preventing you from overeating or starving, and others. People with a low amount of leptin in the body are at a higher risk of obesity. Any imbalance in the leptin level can cause the body to accumulate more amount of fat that slowly leads to obesity. The brain does not receive the signal of the excess fat in the body and believes that your body is currently starving. It leads to hunger pangs, and you end up eating more.
There are a number of reasons for leptin imbalance in the body and why the body becomes resistant to leptin. One of them is the introduction of certain chemicals introduced in the bloodstream. Some of them include TBT, BPA, or PFOA. These chemicals are often found in fast foods, pesticides used for plants, paints, Teflon cookware, and others. These impair the ability of the brain to detect leptin. Thus, youll start to feel hungrier, and you will slowly gain weight.
Leptitox contains natural ingredients that help maintain the functions of the body that are regulated by leptin. These ingredients enhance the production of adenylate cyclase enzymes in the body. These enzymes help increase the bodys temperature and also the metabolic rate, which, in turn, burns the store body fat to produce energy. It allows the body to get rid of the excess fat in the body and enhances your energy levels too. It also allows you to work out for a much longer time.
Leptitox is the perfect supplement for those who are looking to lose their extra weight or those who want to increase their energy and stamina levels. Even though you do not need to change your diet to help you lose weight with this supplement, it is crucial that you have a balanced and proper diet with your workouts. Apart from enhancing the bodys metabolism, it also improves the functions of the organs like your heart and brain so that it can detect the leptin signals properly. The supplement also curbs the craving for foods helping you reduce your chances of becoming obese. Lastly, Leptitox also detoxifies your body and enables you to get rid of the toxins and the synthetic substances that fast foods often contain. It enhances your bodys natural immune system too.

5 tips to shedding the ‘quarantine 15’: ‘It’s not just about looking in the mirror and trying to look fantastic’ – Yahoo News
Posted: June 17, 2020 at 2:49 pm

The link between COVID-19 and stroke | The Herald-News – The Herald-News

Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and major cause of long-term disability in adults.
Now there is growing evidence that COVID-19 infection may also increase the risk of stroke.
While 75 percent of all strokes occur in people over age 65, strokes are now striking people with COVID-19 who are in their 30s and 40s.
Typically ischemic stroke occurs due to sudden blockage of blood flow to the brain and causes sudden neurological deficits. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, obesity and diabetes are leading causes of stroke
Experts believe these covid-related strokes may be a result of blood clots caused by the virus. While mini-strokes often dont cause permanent damage, bigger ones can be catastrophic.
Preliminarydatasuggests patients with COVID-19 are mostly experiencing severe or large strokes which can destroy parts of the brain responsible for movement, speech and decision-making.
During the coronavirus pandemic, it is especially important for people to be vigilant and aware of stroke signs. If someone has stroke symptoms, they should seek medical attention immediately. Even a large stroke is treatable if treated quickly.
Time is brain is something doctors say when it comes to treating a patient whos having a stroke.Every second can mean the difference between life and death, total independence or long-term disability.
Do not avoid seeking help due to concerns of exposure to coronavirus.
BE FASTcan help stroke patients get the treatment needed, on time, for a good outcome.
B:Balance. Does the person have a sudden loss of balance?
E:Eyes. Has the person lost vision in one or both eyes?
F:Face. Does the persons face look uneven?
A:Arms. Is one arm weak or numb?
S:Speech. Is the persons speech slurred? Does the person have trouble speaking or seem confused?
T:Time. If you see these signs in yourself or anyone, call 911 immediately.
Up to 80 percent of strokes may be prevented by living a healthy lifestyle. Here are five ways to helpdecrease the chance of stroke:
Lower blood pressure.Left uncontrolled, high blood pressure is one of the biggest risk factors and can double or even quadruple the chance for stroke.
Lose excess weight and eat healthy.Obesity increases the chance for stroke. Losing as few as 10 pounds can help decrease the risk.
Quit smoking.Smoking can thicken blood and increase the amount of plaque build-up in arteries two things that can accelerate clot formation.
Exercise more or start exercising.Physical activity can help lower the risk of stroke. Adults should get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity weekly.
Manage health conditions.Conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol can increase the chance for stroke.
Stroke survivors should continue taking their medications as directed by their doctor and be extra careful about protecting themselves from COVID-19.
