Is It Safe for Breastfeeding Moms to Try Intermittent Fasting? – SheKnows

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:46 pm

Intermittent fasting has been getting a lot of attention recently, and many swear by it as a way to enhance stress management, improve memory and drop excess pounds. But, when youre a new mom, its crucial that you get the nutrition your body needs each day to keep your strength up while taking care of a little one especially when youre nursing. Before you give the latest trendy diet of the moment a try, its important to know if its safe to intermittent fast while breastfeeding.

(Of course, we always recommend you chat with your doctor or a nutritionist if youre looking to do a major dietary overhaul and arent sure about whats the right fit for you and your lifestyle.)

Unfortunately, there are some misconceptions about intermittent fasting because the name can lead one to believe that you are just reducing calories. In this case, fasting simply means that there is a period of time where you are not eating. While you are restricting calories by not eating for a certain amount of time, you arent really reducing calorie intake. Calorie restriction is to limit how much you eat, and intermittent fasting is to decide the times of day where you wont eat.

The 5:2 method allows you to eat a regular diet five days per week, and on two days of the week, you are only allowed between 500-600 calories.

The 16/8 method limits your eating time to 8-10 hours daily and fasting for 14-16 hours. For example, if you were to stop eating at around 7pm, you wouldnt eat again until somewhere between 9am to 11am.

Alternate Day Fasting is just as its name says: Every other day you go without eating. But keep in mind that this could lead to headaches and fatigue.

Eat-Stop-Eat you are required to go a full 24 hours without consuming food either once or twice weekly. So, if you were to eat breakfast at 8am on one day, the next time you would eat would be the following morning at breakfast. Similar to Alternate Day fasting, you could experience headaches and lethargy.

In general, people have used intermittent fasting as a way of losing excess weight. And, while it has been shown to be effective (in the short-term, especially), it hasnt been found to be more beneficial to your health than other traditional weight-loss diets.

I dont recommend intermittent fasting for breastfeeding women because it can restrict how much food and how many fluids mom gets, says Whitney Casares, MD, MPH, FAAP, and author of The New Baby Blueprint: Caring for You and Your Little One. If that restriction leads to dehydration, especially, it can be dangerous for milk supply and a moms health. Breastfeeding is the time for women to focus on keeping their bodies nourished and not a time to think about restrictions.

In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, you may need more calories during that time to meet your nutritional needs.

While it may be tempting to focus on losing weight as a breastfeeding mom, making sure you have enough calories and fluids to keep your milk supply robust is more important, Casares says.

LSU’s Weight of 0-8: Most losses to Bama by current LSU players is 3, but it feels worse – Montgomery Advertiser

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:46 pm

LSU safety JaCoby Stevens (3) runs the other way with an interception intended for Mississippi State wide receiver Stephen Guidry (1) during the first half of their NCAA college football game in Starkville, Miss., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019. (AP Photo/Rogelio V. Solis)(Photo: The Associated Press)

BATON ROUGE JaCoby Stevens was just 13 when LSU's eight-game losing streak against Alabama started on Jan. 9, 2012, but he remembers each one and some before that, too.

Stevens, a junior safety for LSU, was born and raised in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, but his parents Jeremy and Dionne Stevens are from Crowley, along with his grandparents, and there are relatives in Baton Rouge and Bogalusa.

So, he knows all about LSU's awful octet as the Tigers (8-0, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) prepare for their game at Alabama (8-0, 5-0 SEC) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on CBS that matches two No. 1 teams Alabama in the USA TODAY poll and LSU in the Associated Press poll.

Auburn Lessons: Odd defense used by Auburn may help LSU vs. Bama

"Oh, I know the history better than some of the guys that are from Louisiana," said Stevens, who is second on the team in tackles this season with 49 and has two sacks and two interceptions."Oh definitely, I knew they were losing to Alabama for a while when I came here. A lot of guys even from out of state know that."

It's a burden, though most of the losses are obviously inherited.

"Last time we beat them, guys like Tyrann Mathieu were here," Stevens said. "That's a long time."

Mathieu, a Kansas City Chief who is in his seventh year in the NFL and one of its top defensive backs, had five tackles in LSU's last win over Alabama,9-6 in overtime on November 5, 2011, in Tuscaloosa, when LSU was No. 1 and Alabama was No. 2.

LSU safety Eric Reid, who remains in the NFL, as well, with Carolina, made a critical play when he intercepted a pass from receiver Marquis Maze out of the Wildcat formation intended for tight end Michael Williams a yard away from an Alabama touchdown that would have put the Tide up 12-6.

Column on LSU-Bama Talk: Truth or dare?

"Did he pick the ball off? Or did the tight end catch the ball. I was only 13, but I remember that game like it was yesterday," Stevens said.

A 21-0 loss followed in the national championship game two months later, and LSU has not beaten Alabama since.

"That's what motivated me," Stevens said. "When I first came here, my goal was to beat Alabama."

LSU was 0-for-6 against Alabama when Stevens signed with the Tigers in February of 2017 after being recruited by secondary coach Corey Raymond and head coach Ed Orgeron.

Catching Delpit: JaCoby Stevens making a name for himself, too

"When I signed here, I told Coach O and Coach Raymond, 'I want to beat Alabama,'" he said. "And we have an opportunity to do that. We're at their place Saturday, but I feel like we have the personnel to do so. We're going to come out and give it our best shot."

LSU lost at Alabama, 24-10, in 2017 when Stevens was a freshman and 29-0 last season in Tiger Stadium.

"This may seem cliche and like we're going to keep saying it, but tackling will be huge," Stevens said. "We had way too many missed tackles last year. Sometimes, we had the play called to stop them on third down, but we didn't tackle. If we tackle better than we did last year, we can have a shot."

Stevens, like Orgeron, is convinced Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will play after having ankle surgery on Oct. 20 following a high ankle sprain against Tennessee on Oct. 19. Alabama coach Nick Saban has said Tua's status will be a game-time decision. Tua has been practicing. He completed 25 of 42 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for a 44-yard touchdown in Alabama's win over LSU last season.

"Tua knows where he wants to go with the ball right away, and he's going to get it there," Stevens said. "He has the arm strength. He can get the ball out fast, and he can read coverages pre-snap. He's very decisive with the ball."

LSU did little with the ball against Bama last season as it was held to 196 yards and was shut out for the second time in three years in the series.

"We got our butts beat," said LSU senior quarterback Joe Burrow, who was 18 of 35 for 184 yards with an interception while being sacked five times.

Burrow, a graduate transfer to LSU in 2018, may be only 0-1 against Alabama, but he knows all about 0-8.

"I wouldn't say there's a mental hurdle," Burrow said Monday night. "We're really confident in our abilities. We're really confident in our coaching staff and our scheme, as well. We know the kind of offense we are. You try to approach it like any other game, but obviously it's not."

LSU junior linebacker Patrick Queen said, "This is a new team," which has been said often during the 0-for-8.

LSU at Alabama will be Presidential: President Trump to attend game

"We're not focused on anything from the past few years," he said. "We're just focused on what we can do now and trying to get to 9-0 is the next thing. And so, they're just another team in our way, and we've got to do what we've got to do."

Unlike in the past eight games, an LSU loss in this one may not end its national championship hopes. Considering the Tigers' strength of schedule that includes victories over No. 12 Auburn and No. 10 Florida, LSU could still reach the College Football Playoff if it wins out to end the regular season, should it lose to Alabama.

As Orgeron said Monday, should LSU win or lose Saturday, "There'll be bigger games down the road for us."

As far as what's behind LSU, though, it's a different story.

"No matter what happens, we want this one," Stevens said. "It's been too long."

Organic Slimming Teas vs Regular Tea Brands. Is there Really a Difference? – Eco Warrior Princess

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:45 pm

Organic slimming teas and weight loss teas have been all the rage lately among those wanting to shed some pounds. They are advertised all over social media as the easiest way to lose weight and cleanse the body. Its not hard to run into tons of #fitspo and #fitspirational influencers with healthy food photos on their feeds touting the benefits of certain organic slimming teas, with testimonies of how the select tea brand stimulates quick digestion and keeps unwanted pounds at bay.

Now the theory is that organic slimming teas and weight loss teas are fundamentally different from regular or natural teas because, they boost metabolism while simultaneously ridding the human body of its many impurities. The thing, though, is that the human body is designed to naturally rid itself of toxins, which means that making a tea that claims to do this is more or less unnecessary. Any benefit seen from slimming tea is more than likely a result of the tea itself, not the added slimming ingredients.

There is actually very little evidence that organic slimming teas or weight loss teas are as effective as advertised. In fact, famous class action settlements have been made by big companies who sold their teas as weight loss supplements, following the filing of lawsuits against them. As if this isnt enough, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) do not recognize any slimming tea as being effective.

In addition to this, there are some health concerns that people considering switching to organic slimming teas should know. Though most ingredients of these teas are benign, there are some that may cause severe side effects in certain people. For instance, some slimming teas contain senna, a natural laxative. Now the FDA states that there have been reports of problems associated with drinking slimming teas, containing senna and has also issued warnings about how many slimming teas contain diuretics and laxatives.

For more background info on these two ingredients, diuretics increase the production of urine while laxatives generally allow you to quickly lose water weight by increasing the frequency and size of your bowel movements. Diuretics can also lead to muscle cramps, dehydration or cardiac arrhythmiaand depending on the type of laxative in the organic slimming tea brand, a users intestinal muscles can be triggered to form contractions or enlarge the stool-quantity by absorbing water to stimulate the bowels.

Put simply, this can cause less water to be absorbed from the bowel because that water is going to your stool instead. Which meansyour body will become extremely dehydrated and short of important body fluids. Meanwhile, you may think youre losing weight but youre not. Youre just getting rid of the liquid, not fat, in your body with added bowel movements and urination.

Countless tea companies are in the marketplace combining diuretics and laxatives and presenting us with the finished organic slimming tea without the slightest regard for the dire effects of these ingredients in the human body. The products then filter through the promotional messages many celebrities put up on social media (to get their paychecks) and find their ways to the various departmental stores in our neighborhoods where we buy them; more oblivious of their effects than their manufacturers.

As a result, we end up accumulating for ourselves, a plethora of negative effects from the steady consumption of these organic slimming teas without realizing it soon enough. The sad reality here is that the compound effects of the negative side effects of these products are rarely diagnosed early, and so consumers more often than not find themselves with the shorter end of the stick.

The answer to the commonly asked question of the actual difference the so called slimming teas and natural teas is that there is very little positive difference. In fact, the polyphenols found naturally in green and black teas have actually shown some promise in assisting with weight loss and metabolic improvement in humans. Natural or true teas like black, white, green; oolong and pu-erh are brewed from the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant. They all contain antioxidants that may help reduce the risk of cancer and other diseases when drunk regularly.

So when it comes down to the effectiveness of these organic slimming teas as opposed to natural or regular teas, dont believe what the influencers tell you. There really is no proof that slimming teas are more effective than your preferred regular tea type. The benefits of your natural tea go beyond refreshment; it also adds warmth to your lives.

As long as you dont abuse them.

Friends Theory: The Real Reason Behind Monica’s OCD | Screen Rant – Screen Rant

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:45 pm

One of the main traits of Friends Monica Geller is her obsession with cleanliness, which was the core of many jokes throughout the series, but what if that obsession wasa consequence of her weight loss? Friends followed the lives of a group of six young adults (Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, Chandler, Joey, and Ross) living in New York City and navigating adulthood as best as they could. Over the course of 10 seasons, viewers really got to know these characters, including their backstories and some events that took place years before the series began.

Thanks to some flashbacks, viewers got a glimpse at the characters lives before they all became the tight-knit group everyone knows them as. Among the most notable differences between their past selves and the present was that Monica was overweight, which made wayfor many jokes and situations that referred to Monicas past eating compulsion. However, a Friends fan noticed that Monica from the past is missing one of the present-day Monicas defining characteristics: her obsession with cleanliness and organization.

Related:Friends Original Chandler Plan Wouldve Killed The Show

There have been many theories on the seriessinceFriendscame to an end in 2004, of which some dont make any sense, but some others, like the following theory on Monicas OCD, actually fit with what was shown in the series.

As mentioned above, Monica was overweight for years, and lost a big amount of weight in just one year (as seen in the episode The One With All The Thanksgivings). Its never revealed how she achieved this so quickly, but a fan on Reddit has an idea, and it also explains other things that happened to her years later. The theory says that Monica was possibly a test subject for a weight loss drug at fat camp, which although successful, had some intense consequences. That medication could have messed with her hormones pretty badly, developing OCD and causing infertility as well.

The author supports this theory by referring to the episodes The One That Could Have Been, Part 1 and Part 2, in which Monica never lost weight. In them, Monica doesnt show signs of her obsession with cleaning and organizing everything, and certainly seems more relaxed and happier thanthe real Monica. This can also explain her insistence on having children, which showed early on in the series when she considered artificial insemination. Out of all Friends theories out there, this is one that is actually possible, more so when remembering that Monica was constantly neglected by her parents especially her mother so it wouldnt be surprising if they let their daughter be experimented on as long as she stopped overeating and lost weight, no matter the consequences of that.

Lord Aberdare: 3 million people are affected by malnutrition in the UK, we must tackle the shocking scale of this issue – PoliticsHome.com

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:45 pm

The importance of nutrition was brought home to me following a period of illness some years ago, when medical nutrition products played an important part in my recovery.

But I have been shocked to learn about the scale and impact of malnutrition, right here in the UK, affecting not just those who are elderly or ill, but also young people suffering from obesity through poor eating habits, resulting in malnutrition which after all can mean nutrition that is unsuitable or unbalanced, not just inadequate.

I put down a House of Lords question on this issue on 14 October, which turned out to be the first day of the second Malnutrition Awareness Week of which I was previously unaware. The question will come up for answer today, just squeaking under the wire before Parliament is dissolved.

Malnutrition in the UK is under-recognised and under-treated.

There are some 3 million people living with malnutrition, including 1 in 10 older people. 1 in 6 patients are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition on admission to hospital; about 40% of people admitted to care homes are malnourished.

Patients with malnutrition have three to four times higher risk of death or other adverse health outcomes; conversely, better nutrition can deliver a 70% reduction in adverse outcomes.

Malnutrition affects up to 85% of cancer patients, with one in three likely to lose weight during their illness.Up to 63% of hip fracture patients are malnourished. Disease-related malnutrition has been estimated to cost some 20 billion a year; and the problem seems to be getting worse, not better.

These are just a few of the statistics and research findings that underline the importance of having a proper strategy to tackle malnutrition, across a wide range of healthcare, social care and community services.

There are several steps that can be taken to address this challenge.

Firstly, introducing screening for malnutrition in GP surgeries, care homes and other healthcare settings.Individuals suffering from malnutrition, or at risk of doing so, need to be identified and treated quickly.

All cancer patients, as well as other people at high risk (including those in nursing homes), must have access to a qualified dietitian.

Providing improved training for health professionals, particularly GPs, about nutrition-related issues. Many health professionals receive little or no specific training in this area, and may not recognise the significance of nutrition for positive care outcomes.Good role models are also needed among consultants and others responsible for training care staff.

There should be a clear responsibility in every part of the UK for identifying and tackling malnutrition issues, for example by appointing a Clinical Director for Nutrition nationally and in every NHS region.

We need more awareness among the general public, and encouraging people to look out for and talk about malnutrition issues. Some 75% of people think it is normal to lose weight in old age, but this is wrong. There are physiological and other factors which may cause unintended weight loss, including loss of taste for food; but good nutrition remains fundamental to healthy ageing. And there are often social causes of malnutrition, such as living in isolation, bereavement or poverty, as well as disease-related causes such as dementia and frailty.

Ultimately, good nutrition needs to be recognised and promoted as an integral part of all mainstream health and care pathways.

Lord Aberdare is a Crossbench Member of the House of Lords.

PoliticsHome Member BSNA fully supports Lord Aberdares call for the appointment of a National Clinical Director for Nutrition within NHS England, they state "it is important that the role of good nutritional care across health and social care is recognised." Read more HERE.

Three Months of Full Body Workouts Helped This Guy Get Shredded at 40 – menshealth.com

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:45 pm

When Mat Smith and his wife started a family, he decided to cancel his gym membership in favor of what he calls The MatCave. The 40-year-old senior design engineer from Cheltenham, United Kingdom, turned the garage into his own carefully arranged workout space. But then, as often happens, life intervened. Three years later, looking to have a second son, Smith and his wife realized theyd need to move to a new house; the MatCave came along, but Smith devoted most of his time to renovating the new place.

Over four months working in the hot summer weather, he lost 8 pounds, mostly muscle mass. His barely ate while he worked, and spent his days stressed out. (He has obsessive-compulsive disorder, which made rearranging the new place especially challenging.) By the time he finished, he was completely worn down, mentally and physically.

Around that time he happened to see an Instagram post promoting LiveUP, a twelve-week online coaching program for men. He recognized the names involved; hed followed Ultimate Performance founder Nick Mitchells program once before to get in shape for his wedding. He hadnt been able to afford the personal training program, but when he saw there was an online option, he immediately signed up.

It was a new experience for him. Used to working out alone and designing his own programs, he this time gave himself over to his trainer. He cut his workouts from four or five times a week to three, moving from split-body training to full-body workouts. He ramped up his cardio with two interval sessions a week. Along the way he submitted weekly progress photos and found a supportive community of fellow members online.

Smiths trainer had him focus on a balanced diet rich in whole foods. He stopped counting calories and honed in on quantifying serving sizes. He dropped dairy and caffeine. Since starting the nutrition plan I have noticed significant improvement in my overall health and wellbeing, he says. Even still, he admits at the beginning he cheated on the diet because of special social occasions.

He quickly saw changes, and when he finished the program 12 weeks later, hed lost nearly 14 pounds, while his body fat percentage had dropped from more than 15 percent into the eight or nine percent range.

My biggest motivation for maintaining a healthy lifestyle is our 4-year-old son, Smith says. He wants to set a positive example, and remain an active part of his sons life. Hes also discovered a new confidence and belief in himself. Hes eager for the next challenge: maintaining his healthy lifestyle with the impending birth of a second son.

Hes even using his Instagram account to inspire those who, like him, came to fitness later in life, who may find the traditional gym setting intimidating, and who may find exercise useful for their mental healthin the hope that exercise can help others manage their health, the way it has helped me.

As Uber And Lyft Promise Profits, A Look At The Market’s Reaction – Crunchbase News

Posted: November 5, 2019 at 1:45 pm

Morning Markets: Uber and Lyft have each reported their Q3 earnings. And both companies put up better-than-expected numbers while promising future profits. How have investors reacted to the news?

Uber and Lyft represent enormous bets by venture capitalists and other private investors, wagers that the companies hit on a new sort of service that could not only generate tens of billions of dollars in global use but also, in time, profits.

Subscribe to the Crunchbase Daily

However, in the period after the two companies went public this year their share prices have struggled under the weight of slower-than-expected growth, and sharp, unrelenting unprofitably. Lyft and Ubers reported results changed the narrative surrounding the unicorns, shifting the publics perception of the companies from impressive upstarts to expensive question marks.

The struggles of Lyft and Uber as public companies made related, yet-private companies like Postmates, DoorDash, and even Didi seem like less-than-likely IPO candidates. The market reception that first Lyft, and, later, Uber received also has the potential to chill private market investment into on-demand companies more broadly.

But things have improved in the last few weeks for the two ride-hailing giants, at least in terms of operating results. Each company put a stake in the ground regarding future profitability, and their recent results came in ahead of expectations.

Lets examine the market reaction to all the news, and tie it back to the private companies who wont be able to accept Uber and Lyft being their comps if and when they try to go public themselves.

In late October, Lyft promised investors and the technology community at large that it would generate positive adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in the final quarter of 2021. Its shares rose.

A week later the company reported its third quarter results, including quick revenue growth ($955.6 million, up 63 percent from $585.0 million), expanding losses ($463.5 million, up 86 percent from $249.2 million), and improving adjusted losses ($121.6 million, down 50 percent from $245.3 million).

The results beat expectations, with adjusted losses per share coming in 9 cents per share better than expected ($1.57 per share instead of $1.66). Revenue also beat the $915 million street expectation.

Lyft also raised its Q4 revenue and 2018 revenue guidance, saying that it expects Q4 revenue to be between $975 million and $985 million, and revenue growth to be between 46 percent and 47 percent year-over-year. For its 2019 revenue guidance, Lyft said it expects to be between $3.57 billion and $3.58 billion, up from between $3.47 billion and $3.5 billion. Its annual revenue growth rate is also expected to be 66 percent, up from between 61 percent and 62 percent.

After rising some in the wake of the its adjusted profitability promise, the companys shares have fallen since its earnings report. A good question is why. But before we try to answer that, lets look at Uber.

This week Uber reported its Q3 results. As Uber is a more global company, and as it has more business lines than Lyft, its results are harder to parse out. So, lets get ourselves a summary and then devote ourselves to the details.

The first thing to know is that Uber made a similar profit promise during its earnings call. Namely that Uber will generate full-year adjusted EBITDA in 2021. Thats better than Lyfts claim of reaching positive adjusted EBITDA by Q4 of the same year.

Lets look at Q3. Here are the high-level figures:

Revenues of $3.8 billion were better than the $3.7 billion expected, up 30 percent year over year. And looking at the bottom line, the net loss of $1.1 billion included $400 million in stock-based compensation. The total net loss came in at 68 cents a share, better, in fact, than the 81 cents a share loss expected by the Street.

Along with beating expectations, the company also drew a better picture of its full-year results. Ubers full-year profitability has improved, and its promising to see that its losses arent as bad as expected.

Very simple, and very clean to understand, right? Kinda. Ubers business is a mix of growth-y unprofitable revenue and slower-growth, more lucrative top line. Lets quickly examine each of Ubers newly demarcated revenue segments:

From this perspective we can see that Ubers core business (Rides being 76 percent of its revenue) generates quite a lot of adjusted profit. Enough, indeed, for Uber to claim that the sum fully cover[s] Corporate G&A and Platform R&D costs. Thats quite good!

What is less good is that as weve seen, Eats turns growing gross bookings into sharply negative (and worsening) adjusted EBITDA. Why does Uber invest in Eats, if the business is so unprofitable? Growth.

Uber has long been valued on growth. Sans Eats, Ubers growth rate is slow and its GAAP losses sticky. You cant grow 20 percent year-over-year, give or take, and lose $1.16 billion in a quarter (30 percent of GAAP revenue). Its too much. So, Uber needs a growth business, and thus Eats is a priority. And, therefore, the companys adjusted EBITDA will remain negative for years to come as Uber endures longer losses to allow for greater revenue growth.

Its easy to forget how rich the two companies are in the shadow of their losses. Uber reported [u]nrestricted cash and cash equivalents were $12.7 billion at the end of Q3. Lyfts tally is over the $3 billion mark at the same point in time.

The firms can therefore self-fund for ages; theres little risk of either company running out of cash. To make that clearer, lets examine the companies Q3 operating cash flow. Uber had $878 million in negative Q3 operating cash flow, giving it years of room to run, for example.

The question then becomes why Lyft and Uber are trading down now, just as the two companies are promising future profits and pushing their forecasts up. Two reasons, I think. First, its clear that the companies GAAP losses ($463.5 million in Q3 from Lyft, $1.16 billion in Q3 for Uber) are going to continue for the foreseeable future; neither company has made a commitment to staunching its GAAP red ink.

Continuing, a big piece of each GAAP net loss figure is share-based compensation, telling public market investors that every quarter when Lyft and Uber report adjusted profit, they are looking past a lot of dilution to get to the better-seeming figure.

Secondly, because its a little clearer than before that Uber and Lyfts long-term estimates of 20 to 25 percent adjusted EBITDA margins are probably just about right. That means that the companys future multiples will only be so high.

Today, according to YCharts, data, Lyfts trailing revenue multiple before trading began was 2.9, while Ubers came in at 3.7. Those ratios probably dont have much space to climb over time; investors looking for a bet with a higher chance at multiples expansion would therefore covet companies with higher gross, and profit-margins.

Throw in slowing revenue growth as the two firms continue to scale and you find a mix that isnt as exciting as the firms were when they were fast-growing upstarts.

One last thought. Were seeing Lyft tout its product focus and slimmer losses as advantages. And Uber is putting its money into other businesses and a global presence. We dont know which method will prove more long-term lucrative, but were seeing two divergent bets on the ride-hailing market harden around their differences. Its going to be a very exciting few years.
