Jane McDonald has revealed that she only eats one type of bread after her incredible four stone weight loss journey.
The 59-year-old gave her lifestyle an overhaul back in 2015.
To kick-start her journey, Jane signed up to ITV's Sugar Free Farm in 2017.
The TV show was a hit with viewers at home, with the programme following celebrities as they attempted to live on a sugar-free diet.
While starring on it, Jane met Angelique Panagos, the resident nutritionist at the farm who gave her a life-changing recipe.
Taking everything she learnt from her time on the show, Jane applied to her lifestyle afterwards.
The bread hack that she discovered on the show is one of Jane's favourite things she picked up.
The Express reported that Jane said: "The only bread I eat is one that Ive got a recipe for from Angelique.
"Its got no yeast in it and its made with lots of pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, wholemeal flour, oats and yogurt of all things.
"Its literally 20 minutes and its made ready to put in the oven.
"I dont eat a lot of it but when Im really craving a bit of starch I just get some out of the freezer and stick it in the toaster and its done."
While on the Sugar Free Farm the former Loose Women panelist shed 9lbs in two weeks thanks to Angeliques diet plan.
After her stint on the farm, she lost another stone and a half thanks to cutting out sugar.
Speaking to the paper the brunette beauty said: "I lost a stone and a half from taking part in the TV show Sugar Free Farm.
"I used to eat so much rubbish. I didnt realise how much rubbish I used to eat. Ive always loved a pie and I was very carbohydrate-led as I was always hungry.
"I ate far too much and all the wrong things. I didnt realise that if you eat the wrong things, it doesnt feed your body so you will want more.
"I like my life, and my schedule takes a lot of energy, but I was beginning to get quite tired and I was blaming it on age."
She later added: "Its because of a change in my mindset. I used to live to eat, but now I eat to live."

What is the Best Vegan Diet to Lose Weight? – Sportskeeda
Posted: April 11, 2022 at 1:59 am
The concept of the vegan diet is becoming more and more recognized nowadays. Wer hearing about it on social media and seeing celebrities sharing their vegan meals on Instagram. Its no surprise that many of us are asking, What is the best vegan diet to lose weight?
These diets exclude meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products. but how effective is a vegan diet in helping us lose weight particularly excess belly fat? The short answer is: Yes, a vegan diet can be extremely healthy.
In fact, according to a study conducted in 2013, a high-protein diet, such as the vegan diet, can help you lose weight faster than other diets that restrict calories or fat.
It's not because a vegan diet makes you lose weight in a magical way. If you eat a vegan diet, you'll typically burn more calories than you take. Because you'll be eating a lot of plant-based foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts, and beans.
Still don't believe us? Take a look at this video where Whitney English. RD (registered dietetician) shares various studies indicating that a vegan diet is just as effective as any diet, helping you to lose weight.
If you decide to go vegan, consider how your diet will alter. It's difficult to stay away from dairy, eggs, and animal-based goods, especially when they're included in your beloved bread and spaghetti. Giving up meat, especially if you're a carnivore, can be a difficult task.
While the notion of following a vegan diet is appealing, the reality of sticking to it may be more difficult than you anticipate. There is no need to commit all at once. Small moves towards a plant-based diet may be more effective.
Before following this sample diet, it is important to consult with a registered dietician or nutritionist to plan meals as per your needs since this can vary, and again it's bio-individual.
Sample 1
Breakfast
Cashew milk + rolled oats topped with fresh berries, almond butter, unsweetened coconut flakes, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and cinnamon.
For Lunch
A protein salad with tempeh, tofu, chickpeas, hemp seeds, and arugula.
Dinner
Cooked in a slow cooker, Curry is made with sweet potatoes and lentils, served with brown rice and sauted broccoli.
Snacks or Desert
Peanut butter and cinnamon on apple slices. Non-dairy yogurt is substituted with coconut, almonds, or soy with fresh fruit. Yum!
Sample 2 for those who love to have toasties in their breakfast
Breakfast:
1 sliced apple/pear, 2 slices of Ezekiel toast with almond butter, and coffee with soy milk.
Lunch:
A mixed green salad with cucumber, tomato, carrots, 1/2 cup cooked lentils, 1/4 cup crispy chickpeas, and half an avocado, dressed with oil and vinegar.
Snacks:
Popcorn (popped in oil) or trail mix (nuts, seeds, dried fruit)
Dinner:
Farro, sweet potato, wilted leafy greens, sunflower seeds, and a lemon tahini dressing or brown rice, carrots, bean sprouts, red cabbage, edamame, scallions, and peanuts in a peanut butter soy vinaigrette.
How Vegan Diets are Beneficial?
Fiber is important for weight loss (and overall health) for reasons other than regular bowel movements. It keeps us satisfied and full until our next meal, as well as prevents snacking. A high-fiber diet is therefore crucial for weight loss and maintenance.
Cutting down on animal products cuts your saturated fat consumption dramatically right away. Diets based on whole foods and plants emphasize a healthy heart and "good" carbohydrates, allowing for a higher consumption of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals than the typical American diet.
Plants have fewer calories per serving than animal products, so you'll naturally eat fewer calories on a vegan diet. Foods like leafy greens, healthy grains, fruits, and legumes can be just as full as meat, cheese, and eggs while containing far less fat and calories.
Because your body has to work harder to metabolize animal products than cereals, nuts, seeds, and beans, this alone may make you feel more energized. Your body thrives on carbs, which are abundant in plant-based foods and diets.
Bottom Line
Before you start a vegan diet to lose weight, think about what the diet really means. If you're looking to lose weight quickly and don't plan on sticking with it, then you may be disappointed when the results don't last.
For a healthy change that you can maintain long-term, focus on plant-based whole foods high in vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Ultimately, what might make the most sense for your health, weight loss goals, and dietary preferences is a combination of different vegan diet styles.
Also ReadArticle Continues below
The main takeaway here is to choose foods from each category above based on your personal needs and lifestyle. Vegan diets can be effective for weight loss and maintenance even if they aren't all strictly whole foods, but starchy carbohydrates should be limited and eaten in combination with other beneficial nutrients.

There is a much healthier way of consuming raisins than eating them raw. Just like many other dry fruits you consume in summer, it is recommended by experts that you soak 15-20 raisins overnight and eat them the next morning for making use of them for weight loss. What happens when you soak raisins overnight? The unwanted minerals and vitamins get dissolved in the water, keeping only the required nutrients for quick absorption by the body.
Many studies show that consuming overnight soaked raisins boost nitric oxide levels in the body which increases nutrition absorption. Being rich in iron, raisins also help you beat anemia by increasing the production of red blood cells.
Raisin water is another way to lose weight and hydrate your body at the same time. You can boil 150 grams of raisins in two cups of water. Let it cool down and drink it.
Raisins are relatively low-calorie foods so they can curb your appetite without contributing to the calorie count. Raisins contain natural fruit sugars and leptin which have appetite suppressing properties. Along with keeping you satiated for long and reducing hunger pangs, Leptin can also kill fat cells by increasing the thermogenesis process.
One of the major contributing factors of raisins for weight loss that it improves your digestion. With about 3.3-4.5gms of dietary fiber per 100gms serving size, raisins work like prebiotics which significantly improve the growth of gut flora which is important for weight loss. Dietary fiber plays a crucial role in regulating bowel movements and flushing out the unwanted wastes from the body. By doing so, raisins help in balancing your body mass and lowering the risk of obesity.
Dieting combined with working out does wonders for weight loss. Raisins make a really good pre-workout snack as they are energy-dense foods which are rich in natural sugars like glucose and fructose, that quickly get converted into energy necessary for a workout.

Weight loss: High protein, low carb foods to eat if you’re trying to lose weight – Times of India
Posted: April 11, 2022 at 1:57 am
Apart from the weight loss benefits, following a high protein, low carb diet is said to improve blood sugar levels, ease heart disease risk factors which includes hypertension and high triglyceride levels. Additionally, a high protein diet is also said to reduce bone loss and risk of injury in old people.
On the downside, studies have linked high-protein diets, especially animal protein, to certain types of cancer including colorectal cancer. People who have a normal kidney function can feel free to resort to this diet. However, those suffering from pre-existing kidney disease must refrain from eating a high protein diet.
Research has also linked high-protein diets, especially to increased cardiovascular disease risks. Protein sources such as fatty cuts of meat, whole dairy products, and other high-fat foods are said to raise cholesterol, which is not healthy for your heart.

New study says no increased fertility chances from weight loss; heres why experts disagree – The Indian Express
Posted: April 11, 2022 at 1:57 am
Unlike what has been in practice and long considered, a new clinical study says weight loss may not translate into better odds of getting pregnant. Published in the PLOS Medicine, the randomised study of 379 women with obesity and unexplained infertility found that intensive lifestyle changes did not result in better chances of pregnancy.
We have known for decades that obese women often have difficulty getting pregnant, noted researcher Daniel J Haisenleder, PhD, of the University of Virginia School of Medicines Center for Research in Reproduction. For this reason, many physicians advise weight loss prior to conception. However, there are few studies that have addressed the issue comparing a healthy lifestyle i.e., exercise vs. exercise plus weight loss.
The study divided participants in two groups. While half the women were on a diet using meal replacements, increased physical activity, and medications, other half simply increased their physical activity without trying for weight loss. Both the groups after completing the respective programs received three rounds of standard infertility treatments.
Notably, women in the weight loss program ended up losing seven per cent of their body weight, while participants in the exercise-only group maintained their weights.
The FIT-PLESE study then noted that eventually there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of healthy birth frequency. In total, 23 of the 188 women who completed the 16-week intensive weight loss program ended up giving birth; among the 191 who completed the exercise-only program, 29 gave birth.
However, the intensive dieting program did offer various benefits like reduced metabolic syndrome that increases the chances of diabetes, stroke, and heart disease.
Weight loss improved metabolic health in these subjects. Unfortunately, the changes seen did not improve fertility, Haisenleder said in the study. Infertility within this population remains an important health issue, and will require further studies to address the problem in the future.
However, experts say that obesity and pregnancy chances are inversely related which means that more the weight, lesser the chances of conception and having a healthy baby.
If a person is overweight with a BMI (body mass index) of more than 25, weight loss will improve their chances of conception, even if they have (or do not have) Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), said Dr Manjiri Mehta, consultant gynecologist, Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi A Fortis network Hospital.
Dr Mehta is of the opinion that obesity affects fertility in both men and women. Excessive weight affects fertility by changing the way the body stores female sex hormones. Fat cells convert a male hormone (androstenedione) to female hormone (estrone). This further has effect on brain centre that regulates ovarian and testicular hormones. While being healthy is super important, excessive weight loss with high-impact exercise and crash dieting may be counterproductive. Start by eating healthy and maintaining a healthy body weight so that you do not put undue stress on your body. Making these lifestyle changes will make a difference to your overall health, even if they dont lead to weight loss, she told indianexpress.com.
Dr Kinjal Shah, obstetrician and gynecologist, Bhatia Hospital Mumbai also stated, definitely chances of fertility increases with weight loss.
It has been seen that 20 per cent of the PCOS women conceive with five per cent weight loss. This is because weight loss has significantly been associated with ovulation and has a benefit in women planning to conceive. Stress and sedentary lifestyle are the leading causes of uncertain fertility. Regular 45 minutes of exercise and healthy diet needs to be emphasised to women with fertility issues, Dr Shah said.
According to Mehta, a study was done in 2014 that showed that even 10 per cent weight loss increased the chances of conception from 50 to 80 per cent. This means that a person has a greater chance of getting pregnant and having a healthy baby if they are close to a healthy weight. If a person is overweight with a BMI of more than 25, weight loss will improve their chances of conception, even if they have (or do not have) PCOS, said Mehta.
Obesity in women can also increase the risk of miscarriages and impair the outcomes of assisted reproductive procedures and pregnancy, asserted Dr Bhavini Shah Balakrishnan, consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, Masina Hospital, Mumbai. Infants of diabetic mothers are also prone to various neonatal adverse outcomes, including metabolic and hematologic disorders, respiratory distress, cardiac disorders and neurologic impairment due to perinatal asphyxia and birth traumas, said Dr Balakrishnan.
Stating that there has been a lot of controversy regarding the effect of weight on fertility and whether weight loss really helps conception, Dr Balakrishnan said that despite all the argument, a healthy lifestyle which includes age and height appropriate weight has been beneficial for a woman not just during the reproductive age group but also helps makes the peri-menopausal to menopause transition smooth.

6 Best Pasta Combinations for Weight Loss, Says Dietitian Eat This Not That – Eat This, Not That
Posted: April 11, 2022 at 1:57 am
Don't fear pastadespite its rap for being notoriously high in carbs and calories, it can actually become a healthy meal for when you're looking to lose weight, depending on the type of pasta noodle and combination of ingredients.
With nutrient-packed ingredients and slimmed-down pasta options, which offer more protein, fiber, and complex carbs, as opposed to lackluster refined carbs and sugars, you can make yourself a quick, simple, and delicious pasta dishthat's versatile and perfect for lunch or as a protein topper that'll fill you up, not out.
"This is especially true when it's combined with balanced ingredients like fiber-rich veggies, heart-healthy fats, and satiating protein options," says registered dietitian nutritionist Ginger Hultin, MS, RDN, CSO, author of Anti-Inflammatory Diet Meal Prep and How to Eat to Beat Disease Cookbook.
Read on for six easy pasta combinations to experiment with in the kitchen, and for more on how to eat healthy, don't miss Eating Habits to Lose Abdominal Fat As You Age, Say Dietitians.
"Cauliflower pasta is actually very delicious and this veggie is versatile to make and use as carb-replacements, such as with gnocchi and pizza crust," says Hultin. "Using it as a base just adds extra fiber and another serving of veggies, and you can then combine it with other savory veggies, like tomato, and add a satiating dressing like pesto," she adds.6254a4d1642c605c54bf1cab17d50f1e

Gripping the rope attachment, take a step forward, and bring the rope above and behind your head.
