A former Coronation Street star has showed off his amazing body transformation achieved in 12 weeks.

Scott Wright, who lives in the Northern Quarter, was obese after being asked to gain weight for a film role. He had put on almost twice as much weight as the producers had wanted by bingeing on chocolate and fast food.

Scott, who was in the worst shape of his life before shedding two-and-a-half stone in less than three months, is now a muscle-bound hunk resembling his former Corrie stripper character Sam Kingston.

The former Rear of Year winners waist shrank 10 inches from 42in to 32in and his body fat went down from 27 per cent to just 10 per cent followed a rigorous diet and exercise regime.

Scott, 42, said: I looked terrible before I lost the weight. I was in shocking shape I had very little energy and completely ashamed of my man boobs and ever expanding waist line.

I had always had a keen interest in fitness and always tried to look after my body, to the extent that 10 years ago I took a break from acting and set up a gym and personal training business.

My problems started when I had to put on some weight for a film role. I was only supposed to put on a stone-and-a-half but I totally lost all my discipline and put on two-and-a-half stone.

The film producers were delighted because they wanted me looking a really heavy but I had a big weight problem.

In the past, I had always been able to shift the weight quickly, but this time I just could not get it off. I ended up in the worst shape of my life.

Scott, who appeared in the soap between 2000 and 2002 and famously stripped off in the Rovers Return for cheering revellers as the stripper The Masked Python, is now proudly showing off his new rippling torso, bulging biceps and six-pack.

But the greatest difference for Kranz came from curbing what he puts in his mouth every single day. "You lose weight quickly when your diet changes from fast food, soda, and chips to meat and vegetables. I was the high schooler eating pre-portioned and pre-preparedthanks for the help, Mom!chicken breast and veggies for lunch. I also found out I actually enjoyed lifting weights, and put together a fairly respectable home gym in a spare bedroom," he says. Though he eventually recovered and was able to become an endurance athlete, doing everything from swimming to cycling to running, Kranz maintains a caveman-like attitude toward nutrition. It was a life-changing car accident when he was 20 years old that pushed now 39-year-old Michael Tamez to focus on his health. 6 Signs You’re A Yo-Yo Dieter And How To Finally Fix It – Elite Daily

I know how hard dieting can be: I gained so much weight when I was sick with a hormonal disease called PCOS a few years ago, and losing it was TORTURE.

The meal plans and workouts, as well as avoiding dessert, made me wonder when the cycle would ever end and I pretty much always wanted to binge on dessert and fries.

Finally, when the weight actually DID come off, I developed a new lifestyle:one that involved both the foods that were good for me AND the ones that werent so great.

Im happy to say Ive reached a happy medium where I can have those glasses of wine AND the kale salads, and not feel guilty about any of it.

But of course, thats easier said than done. When youre inundated every day by size 2 bodies and pretty much every weight loss trend imaginable, its hard to not get sucked in. And when big occasions come along, you want to lose weight fast so you look your best for them.

If it seems like youre constantly on a diet (until youre off it again), you might have a more serious issue: You may be a yo-yo dieter.

Lauren Slayton, author of The Little Book of Thin and NYC-based nutritionist, says,

I think of yo-yo dieting as the tendency to be either all in or all out when it comes to weight loss. And of course, as your attention to nutrition goes up and down, so does your weight.

Studies have shown excessive yo-yo dieting can permanently alter your metabolism, slowing it down rapidly. In addition, constantly gaining and losing weight can have other unhealthy side effects, such as coronary heart disease, excess stress in the body and inflammation.

The question is, are you at risk?

These are the signs you could be a yo-yo dieter, along with some tips to help you finally break free of the cycle for GOOD:

Yo-yo dieters are constantly either on a diet or off it. The diets they put themselves on are often very extreme, and so, they lose a lot of weight.

The thing is, once theyve hit their goal weight, they binge. Their diets are so restrictive, they feel a sense of freedom when they go off them. This excessive caloric intake, along with the damage the dieting inflicts on their metabolism, causes them to gain weight.

Then, the cycle continues again, with the dieter losing the weight again by more restrictive means.

Paleo diet, gluten-free diet, vegan diet, spin class, Crossfit: Youve tried them ALL.

While theres nothing wrong with being on-trend and knowing what Hollywoods up to in efforts to lose weight, yo-yo dieters often find themselves running from trend to trend, looking for that quick fix.

While all these trends are definitely effective when applied consistently on a daily basis, there isnt one thatll magically give you results overnight.

Be careful youre not getting sucked into the hype.

Your restrictive diets may cause you to give up sugar one day, or all carbs the next.

This is NOT sustainable.

First of all, all food groups contain criticalnutrients that are necessary for your health and well-being. Secondly, giving up something always makes you want it more.

When you restrict yourself, youre way more likely to crave the thing you gave up. This causes you to give up, binge and then start the cycle all over again.

Yo-yo dieters tend to have an all or nothing mindset. If they dont stick to their diet perfectly, they get frustrated and start feeling like failures.

And of course, because their diets are so restrictive, they inevitably fall off the wagon.

This leads to anxiety, and the yo-yo dieter takes this as an opportunity to give up.

That is, until the next diet comes along.

Yo-yo dieters get addicted to the thrill of quick weight loss through their restrictive diets no matter how short-lived these results may be.

While a balanced lifestyle change is obviously the best way to approach weight loss in a sustainable way, yo-yo dieters are more concerned with the here and now.

They would rather get the rush quick weight loss provides even if they have to go through hell to achieve it.

Studies show people who used to be overweight earlier on in life tend to be yo-yo dieters because they find it difficult to maintain the weight they currently have, even if its not that low.

Yo-yo dieters usually look at weight loss as a numbers game on the scale as opposed to a lifestyle they can sustain their entire lives.

As a result, they focus on cardio and the numbers dropped on the scale, as opposed to transforming the body through weights (which might make the number on the scale go UP) and nutrition.

But losing that much weight really fast means you have to lower your caloric intake to maintain that weight, and you can only rev it back up through strength training.

Nutritionist Khushboo Thadani says,

After you complete a strength training workout, for the next 24 to 48 hours, your body will have to work harder thannormal in order to repair the muscle tissues that have had stressimposed on them. As a result, your body burns more calories. Muscle is also highly metabolically active and requires more calories than fat to be maintained.

The thing is, if youre used to this pattern, it can be super hard to throw caution to the wind. It might feel so weird to start eating gluten again, or maybe youll hate weights with a vengeance.

But all hope isnt lost:Thadani has some tips to make sure you rev up your metabolism and get off the yo-yo dieting track for good.

She says,

Direct your energy towards making small changes. Choose two or three areas that are important to you and really focus on them. As you start to notice improvements in your well-being, these changes transition into habits that can last a lifetime. Build on them.

In addition, allow yourself some flexibility and recognize not every day is going to be perfect. Just because you miss a workout or eat more cake than you intended, its not the end of your healthy living journey.

Instead, treat the next meal as a fresh opportunity to nourish your body to thehighest standards and get back on track to success.

What does this mean? ALLOW YOURSELF SOME CAKE SOMETIMES. Itll keep you on track, and youll feel so much better if you dont restrict yourself.

For 10 years, Ive been the force behind MyBodyTutor.com, which simplifies the weight-loss process into practical, sustainable behaviors that help you lose weight and actually keep it off. It hasnt always been easy, but I believed enough in my program to quit my comfortable job for it. Ive since made a career out of working with clients who have "tried everything" but just havent managed to keep the weight off. One client had attempted 16 different programs before finding success with me.

The truth is, you can lose weight with almost any program, but sustaining that weight loss is a different story altogether. My program has been a success because clients can fly the nest after acquiring the necessary skillsI dont want anyone to come back as repeat business. Here the top weight-loss strategies that make my clients so successful.

Tension relief is one of the top reasons we overeat and make poor food choices. When something causes us to feel tense, we seek to alleviate that feeling often with overly indulgent food and drinks. As we get older, we make less time for fun, which leads to burnout.

What defines fun for you? Consider signing up for art classes, salsa lessons, volunteering, board games, meditation, yoga, even cooking healthier spins on your favorite foods. Focusing on fun might sound trite, but there's a good reason my most successful clients create time for it: The more fun we have, the less we'll rely on food and drink to create it for us.

...what youre craving is avoidance. When we indulge, were after the experience of eatingthe escape and distraction. So when you want to eat an entire pint of ice cream, what youre really after is that sense of reward. But food wont give you what you're truly looking for, so when youre craving something that will hamper your goals, ask yourself: "If I could use a magic button to change something in my life right now, what would I use it for?" This will help you identify whats really bothering you. For example, if youre unhappy with your career, or youre seeking a better relationship with your partner, identifying these issues will help you map out a plan of action instead of covering up a desire with temporary relief in the form of dessert.

You know how some people can work their butts off in the gymeven with a trainerand they dont end up looking any different? You can't out-exercise a poor diet; what you do between exercise matters most. While exercise is the key to energy and a better mood, diet is the key to weight loss.

We often have to battle between our short-term, irrational mind and our long-term, rational mind. When were hungry, stressed, or tired, its harder to make good choices. Besides, when was the last time you were "in the mood" for grilled chicken and vegetables when you felt ravenous? Sure, you might not always follow through with your healthy-eating plans, but the chances youll do so increase dramatically when you actually have a plan in the first place. You dont get any bonus points for using heroic willpower rather than simple planning, so why not make it easier on yourself? My most successful clients always have healthy food ready to go in the fridgethis just makes good choices easier.

This might sound like common sense, but its not common practice. You cant expect to stick with a planthat wont work in the long run, but people keep attempting absurd fad diets. Forget about them! You can only follow a cookie, shake, grapefruit, cabbage, no-carb, and no-fun diet for so longand my most successful clients avoid these diets. Before you start any weight-loss program, ask yourself, "Can I see myself eating like this in five years from now?" If the answer is no, then the diet youre thinking about starting isnt going to work. Give yourself a chance to succeed from the start.

One of the top reasons people are overweight is because they eat when they're emotionally hungry, not physically hungry. Physical hunger comes on gradually and can be satisfied with any food. It passes what I call the "Broccoli Test."

Emotional hunger comes on suddenly. It feels urgentand is marked by specific food cravings. You can have snack after snack, and nothing hits the spot. This is because you're not hungry for foodyou're hungry for something else. So when youre about to eat, pause and ask yourself, "Am I hungry or am I eating to change the way I feel?" This will allow you to catch yourself if you're about to eat for emotional reasons, not out of true hunger.

Ill never forget when a client told me that before starting one of her many failed diet attempts, she was told to sign a contract stating shed never indulge in any of her favorite desserts again. If only it were that easythats like saying "Dont be sad" to someone whos depressed. Its ridiculous. Never indulging again isnt sustainable... or even desirable.

You should eat treats when theyre special to you. My rule is that your special indulgence should pass the "Will I remember this in two weeks?" test. Most of the indulgences we eat arent remarkabletheyre bags of chips or boxes of stale-tasting cookies from a convenience store. The idea is to make the most of routine meals and indulge when its truly worth your while. Wait for a memorable treat like a high-quality pastry from your favorite shop.

The real secret to sustainable weight loss is that there is no secret. It's about eating well, exercising and doing these consistently. Understanding what gets in the way of consistencyand how to be more steady in your effortsis the only way to stick with a plan and get the results you really want.

Tweet happy thoughts: People who expressed positive sentiments on Twitter were more likely to reach their diet goals, according to aGeorgia Institute of Technologystudy.

Researchers analyzed about 700 people who used MyFitnessPal (an app that allows you to track your diet and exercise, andconnects to your social media accounts so you can seamlessly share your progress with friends). The goal was to lookat the relationship between people's tweets and whether or not they were reaching the calorie goals they set on the app. And as it turns out, positive tweets were linked with diet success.

Not all the tweets analyzed in the study had to do with fitness and dieting, necessarily. Some tweets showed a generally positive outlook on life with hashtags like #blessed and #enjoythemoment. People who tweeted about their fitness accomplishments also had an edge over those who didn't. And, no, these people weren't just crushing personal records in the gym and losing a ton of weight and bragging about it online. These kinds of tweets cited in the study didn't have a gloating tone, but instead, one that exuded motivation. For example, one tweet read, "I will stick to my fitness plan. It will be difficult. It will take time. It is going to require sacrifice. But it will be worth it."

The study serves as an example of how social media can be used to reach any health, fitness, or weight-loss goal. While it's true that social mediahas been linked to depression and anxietyand can lead to an unhealthy body imageit also brings people together and provides a support system. (Just look at our Goal Crushers Facebook page, a community of members with health, diet, and wellness goals who lift each other up during struggles and celebrate each others' achievements.) And posting images or status updates on social media can also serve as an easy way to hold yourself accountable for your actionsin this case, living up to the healthy eating or exercise expectations you set for yourself.

Social media can certainly be used as a tool for weight loss (when used the right way), so if you're struggling to reach your New Year's goal or simply stick to it at all, consider posting about your journey on social mediaevery positive tweet counts.

Mama June Shannons daughters are giving away new secrets about the reality stars new weight lossand highly anticipated show, Mama June: From Not to Hot.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Alana Honey Boo Boo Thompson, 11, and Lauryn Pumpkin Thompson, 17 sat down to discuss their mothers biggest transformation yet and how she got there.

She had gastric sleeve back in May of 2015, and then she slowly started losing weight, and the reason she got the gastric sleeve was because she hit a plateau she couldnt lose any weight, Pumpkin told ETs Jennifer Peros. And then it came to a point where [the trainer] had to step in because she hit another plateau with the gastric sleeve, and wasnt losing any more weight.

Her stomach started looking gross, Pumpkin continued. It was hanging from where she lost so much weight, and her arms and her chin, so she got [the skin on] her stomach removed.

According to her daughters, Mama June also underwent breast surgery.

She got her boobies done, Pumpkin added. She got them from a 44 long to 36 up.

As fans know, the reality star mother of four weighed 365 pounds when she started filming TLCs Here Comes Honey Boo Boo in 2012. The following year, in 2013, Shannon claimed to have lost 100 pounds. However, shortly after this photo was taken at the 24th Annual GLAAD Awards, she gained most of the weight back!

And now that shes finally shed the extra pounds, Pumpkin revealed that Mama June still sees herself as vastly overweight.

I think that her biggest thing [she has to] overcome is that fact that she still thinks of herself as a bigger person, because, even to this day, like, a couple of days ago we had a conversation, and. . .she looked in the mirror and was like, Im still fat,' Pumpkin said. And I guess because shes seen herself as a bigger person all these years, she doesnt realize how small she is.

Thats what shes used to doing, and when youre a bigger person, thats how you disguise all of that through wearing bigger clothes, Crooks weighs in. So, now, were having to transform her mind even more so. . .because she has curves now, she looks awesome.

Earlier this week, Mama June dished to Radar: Ive lost at least half of my body! People said yeah that I look good, so I took it to the extreme like everything else.

(CNN) - Wendy Williams is not the woman she used to be -- and she's not going back.

The talk show host has shed 50 pounds and recently told E! that she's keeping the weight off.

"I did it on my own and I love it because I no longer have to do that fight with clothing," Williams said.

Being larger and worrying about how she might look in clothing are things that "get in the way of being a good host for the people," she said.

In October, Williams shared with fans during a post-show segment that she lost the weight over a three-year period.

"This is as good as it's going to get," she told E!. "I'm not gonna fight my body anymore, I've lost the weight, I feel fantastic."

Williams said she's maintaining her weight loss by eating better and not skipping breakfast.

"I've learned to be extremely healthy regarding morning eating," she said. "I was doing it all wrong before."
