Since Crave Weight Loss Center at 622 N. Webb Road opened in late February, business has been booming.
Tracy Gardner is the owner and developer of the Crave Weight Loss program. She is a Grand Island native and a member of the Bosselman family, where she worked for 20 years before deciding to make a career of helping other people make a transformation in their lives when it comes to their appearance, how they feel about themselves and improving their health. She is a certified personal trainer and weight loss coach.
"I knew I wanted to make a difference in people's lives," Gardner said.
She went back to school to focus her talents in nutrition and become a certified personal trainer to help people make that transformation in their lives.
Prior to opening her business, Gardner was working with clients, but she wanted to expand her business, which has more than doubled since opening her new store in Grand Island in February and continues to grow.
Gardner said her passion is nutrition and fitness, but that was not always the case as she struggled with her weight as a young girl.
"I lost my first weight when I was in the eighth grade, and I have battled it along," she said. "It has been an up and down battle. I really have learned to take care of myself and eat the right foods. I was pre-diabetic, so I decided to go down the nutrition and fitness route so I could help transform people's lives."
That struggle as a youth with her weight and the hard work and dedication to turn that around in her personal life, has given her the perspective of being in that person's shoes and knowing where they are coming from as she helps others successfully make that life affirming transformation.
"That is important as I also specialize in emotional and mindful eating as that ties so closely into it," Gardner said.
That attitude has led Gardner to make Crave Weight Loss Center more than just a "diet."
