Working out can sometimes feel like, well, hard work. Thats why its always refreshing to discover a more fun way of keeping fit.
Kelly Osbourne has shed six stone on a vegan diet and with the help of gastric sleeve surgery in 2018. However shes also been known to keep in touch with her inner child and indulge in some good old-fashioned hula hooping.
The 35 year old reality star, who recently shopped for children's clothes after struggling to find clothes that fit her following her weight loss wrote about her weight struggles in her 2017 memoir, describing herself as having 'a little dumpling body'.
She also said she was put off going to the gym because of all the thinner people she knew shed encounter.
Which is perhaps why shes been known to take up hula hooping in particular a weighted Hoopnotica hula hoop to help her sustain weight loss.
I have a Hoopnotica hula hoop, Kelly previously said. I use it every day. Its made my back and arms stronger, and my waist has gone down two inches. On Saturday nights my friends and I put on ridiculous outfits and hula-hoop and dance when everyone else is at da club."
The brand was founded by Gabriella Redding, who claims that she lost 50 pounds in one year through hula hooping.
It's been reported that Michelle Obama, Kelly Brook and Beyonc are all fans of a hula hoop workout. According to the American Council on Exercise, a personal training provider, you can burn seven calories a minute while hooping. It also helps to improve posture, boost circulation, and strengthen core muscles.
Whats more its a great activity to take up if youre stuck at home you can do it in front of the TV, making it a perfect pandemic work-out.
Personal Trainer Chris Hall, founder of Hall Personal Training even reveals that research suggests that hula hooping for 15 minutes a day, four to five days a week for six weeks can help you to lose up to 4cm of your waist.
So what other typical childhood pastimes can keep us fit and full of fun?

The lowdown: Its little wonder that super svelte Kate Hudson is such a huge fan of skipping, considering the fact that it burns between 120-190 calories per 15 minutes depending on how quickly you turn the rope and high you jump of course.
Chris adds, It gives you a total body workout too, putting your calves and your core through their paces, as well as shoulders, forearms and biceps. If you vary your routine by doing two rotations to every skip or jumping from leg to leg it will keep things more challenging.
At the beginning of a workout skipping can help raise your heart rate, while at the end of a workout it can be used to burn off stubborn fat, explains Chris.

The lowdown: Kim Kardashian knows why a rollerblading revival is long overdue as does trainer Chris. He says: This will really work the inside and outside muscles of your thighs. Every time your foot lands, youll also be toning up your gluteus medius the muscle that controls the level of your hips preventing your knees from buckling.
Your upper body will move in a similar way to when using a Megaboard. This means youll be getting some rotation into your abs which will work the obliques on the sides of your stomach, says Chris. Plus youll need a really strong core to stay upright. Doing 15 minutes will burn 180-190 calories.

The lowdown: Trampolining is not only fantastic fun, its great exercise. Its probably why Beyonc is a devotee.
Chris says that 15 minutes can burn around 60 calories and to really get the most of your workout he says to wear a weight. A weighted belt can make trampolining more intense and will get your heart rate up quicker, he says.
Youll be using your quads and abdominals. Plus theres an added bonus for all you Louboutin lovers trampolining especially if youre using a mini one can also be great for women who wear high heels as it helps to strengthen your ankle muscles.

The Lowdown: The electronic board is just the thing for toning up your tum as you nip from A to B! The device contains an on-board gyroscope system and you control it by leaning forwards or backwards.
Chris says, Just preventing yourself from toppling off will blitz some calories and put your stomach muscles through their paces. Keeping yourself upright as you weave around obstacles can help build core strength. It will also help to strengthen your ankles, which can improve your balance.
