The Little Things That Make a Big Difference is an article series outlining weight loss and diet interventions that may seem insignificant, but can make a huge difference to the success of your diet plan.

You really should be able to move your body around. I mean, its YOUR body, after all.

You see, being strong enough to do some air squats, sit ups, and push ups (even womens pushups) is a fairly basic level of strength.

As we age, we lose muscle strength and bone density. It is REALLY important to maintain your functionality as you age. This will protect you from serious injury and will help you to be more independent and capable for longer.

If you dont have basic strength, you NEED to start training NOW. And lockdown is a good time to start putting a routine in place. Exercise is good for you mind and body. Its a great stress reliever, it gives you something to do besides watching TV and snacking on the couch, and it helps set you up for a longer, healthier life. Good deal!

A lot of people are not doing any exercise during lockdown because the gym is closed. And thats NOT okay, because you CAN do body weight exercises at home.

A few sets of squats, sit ups, and push ups is FAR better than NOTHING.

So do it. Itll keep you further away from deaths door, and thats a good thing.

If you need some motivation, or some tips on how to do these exercises correctly so that you dont hurt yourself, check YouTube. There are millions of hours of good exercise and weight loss content online. Find a trainer that you like, and follow their exercises. Make sure you push yourself to do better every time. You will not be disappointed with the results.
