It never sticks and they often ending going back with even worse habits.

Phaneuf said there are many reasons people are developing bad eating habits right now. She said COVID is causing people stress and stress eating is common. Many people are working from home and are expected to help with their childrens education. They turn to food because they are overwhelmed, bored and because snacks are readily available in their cupboards.

It is difficult to stick to a routine right now, said Phaneuf. Start in one place and go out from there.

So, start small. Phaneuf said eat half the serving of ice cream that you usually would. Replace the bag of potato chips with carrots, or almonds. Make each step a part of your daily life and then move forward to another step.

Emily Thompson, a registered dietician, and a certified specialist on obesity and weight management at Wentworth Douglass, said people who find themselves at home more, should develop a new routine, since schedules they are used to following might no longer exist.

It is important to helping regulate your lifestyle, said Thompson. Good sleep hygiene, going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time is healthy. Establish a work routine, a time to start and a time to finish so you are not working at all odd hours of your day. Develop a meal schedule.

So, go for a walk at lunchtime. The recommendation for exercise for an adult is 30-60 minutes a day. If you are just starting, work up to that. Dont try to do it right away or you will give up.

Avoid fad diets, both experts said.

I am not an advocate of fad diets, said Thompson. No health care provider will advise that. We see a lot of people trying them this time of year and they just do not work. The best diet is the diet you can stick to.

Thompson said there are ways to identify what is a fad diet.

If the diet has something to sell you; its probably a fad diet, she said. They are the ones benefitting from the diet, not you. Are there rigid rules; are those rules sustainable? No, then it is not going to work and is a fad diet. If it promises 10 pounds in 10 days; its a fad diet.

The other big weight gain culprit at this time of year is alcohol consumption, said Thompson.

Try to limit alcohol, said Thompson. If you are going to a small gathering in your bubble, bring something healthy. Prioritize what you eat. Choose a favorite you must have, and modify the other things you eat accordingly. You can have fun and stick to your goals at the same time.

Visit her Instagram profile and you will find that the Mumbai-based trainer has shared a Reel on how to make protein balls at home. They require some basic ingredients, most of which you may already have at home. What's more, all ingredients are plant-based. This makes these protein balls perfect for people following the vegan diet.

Ingredients include red dates (120 gms), crushed almonds (2 tbsp), flaxseed powder (2 tbsp), chia seed powder (2 tbsp). cocoa powder (2 tbsp), chopped black raisins (2 tbsp), ginger juice (1 tbsp), cardamom powder (1/2 tsp), almond oil (1 tsp) and cinnamon powder (1/4 tsp).

Mix all ingredients well. Watch the video below to see how Karachiwala does it. Once the ingredients are blended in the desired consistency, take small portions of the prepared batter to make lemon-sized balls.

Roll these balls in dessicated coconut and chill them for 15 minutes. Store in a jar and have one or more of these protein balls every day, depending on your daily intake of the nutrient.

Hackers threaten to post ‘before and after’ pictures of cosmetic surgery patients – Telegraph.co.uk

Hackers are threatening to publish before and after pictures of patients who have had surgery after vast amounts of data were stolen from a major cosmetic surgery chain, it has emerged.

The Transform Hospital Group suffered a ransomware attack and has reported the incident to the Information Commission.

The company, which has had numerous celebrity endorsements, has also written emails to its customers warning of the data security incident.

A hacker group known as REvil boasted on the darknet webpage of how it had obtained more than 900 gigabytes of patient photographs. The group said the intimate photos of customers were not a completely pleasant sight.

The Transform Hospital Group, also known as the Hospital Group, claims to be Britains leading weight loss and cosmetic surgery group.

It has 11 clinics specialising in breast enlargements, nipple corrections, nose adjustments and weight loss.

A spokesperson for Transform Hospital Group said: We can confirm that our IT systems have been subject to adata security breach.

None of our patients payment card details have been compromised but at this stage, we understand that some of our patients personal data may have been accessed.

We have alerted all of our patients to the incident and will be providing them with regular updates as the picture becomes clearer.

We have secured our systems and a full investigation is underway tounderstandthe extent of the incident. We are working with the National Cyber Security Centre, Information Commissioners Office, cyber security experts and the police to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

It is understood that any images the hackers may have obtained would not include patients' faces as images are stored anonymously and show the body part treated, and so identifying an individual would not be possible.

The company has previously promoted itself via celebrity endorsements, although in recent years it has not done so.

Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona, Shameless actress Tina Malone and reality TV star Joey Essex from The Only Way is Essex are previous patients who have endorsed the clinic.

In an interview with the BBC, Simon Hails who had chest reduction surgery with the company, said: "I have had an email from The Hospital Group informing me of a 'data security incident' but no detail as to what has been hacked," he told the BBC.

"I'm obviously concerned as the last thing I want is 'before photos' being splattered around in the public domain. I've tried to keep my surgery private and not even some of my friends and colleagues know about it, so the data breach is concerning for me."

Ransomware is one of the more prolific forms of cyber attacks. It usually involves hackers gaining access to a computer network to obtain files.

Many victims of such attacks are encouraged not to pay ransoms to avoid fuelling the crime.

REvil, which is also known as Sodinokibi, has target numerous other companies.
